54 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2021 | Lady Executive Golf Welcome to Lady Executive golfers (LEGS)! We are a 9 hole club on the Executive Course. We play weekly on Tuesday mornings with mixed play, fun scrambles, and a monthly tournament. In addition, we participate with other clubs for 18 hole tournaments and "away" games a few times during the year. From October through June, we meet at 8:30 am with tee times at 9 am. From July to October, we meet at 7:30 am with tee times at 8 am. The third Tuesday of each month is our monthly meeting and lunch at the South Clubhouse. Guests are welcome! We emphasize fun and socializing while striving to improve our game and become more familiar with the rules of golf. We invite you to join us! Lady Niners As we begin to feel the pressures of the upcoming holidays, members feel the need to be sure to get all of the holiday preparations ready for family and friends who will be coming to see them. We feel that we don't want to let our golf games suffer because we don't have the necessary time to work on it. Well, nine holes of golf is definitely the answer. This is what members of this club enjoy each Thursday on a championship course. During the month of November, members will have the opportunity to play organized golf only three times since Thanksgiving falls on Thursday. The first week is always our "scramble" and general meeting; the second week is our "Turkey Shoot" and "Cup" play-off; the third week is a regular round. Members carry a GHIN handicap, which gives them an opportunity to play other golfing events at Sun Lakes and on other golf courses throughout the area. Lady Niners are starting into a new year, so this would be an ideal time to sign up and improve your game while you meet new friends. Women's Golf Congratulations Nancy Boyle, Women's Golf Club's Club Champion for 2021. The tournament was held three consecutive Thursdays. The ladies' biggest challenge was the extreme heat – especially on day one. We love our large shade trees on the championship golf course and the occasional sprinkler which provided a cooling mist. Trophies will be awarded to Nancy and each flight winner at our next monthly meeting. We are in the process of electing 2022 officers. The slate will be read at the Nov. 4 general meeting and a vote will be taken at that time. The new officers will be sworn in at the Dec. 2 general meeting and begin their new position on Jan. 1, 2022. Our 2022 membership fee is $60 for new and returning members. We offer an Associate membership for those former members who no longer wish to golf. With this type of membership, the Associate member is welcome to attend our general meetings, assist with tournaments, and attend our luncheons. The price is $25. Another tournament (Sweepstakes) was held prior to the Club Championship where we enjoyed a pairing party to select each team and have appetizers with a beverage that may have been enjoyed by a pirate and his/her deck mates. The next day the Sweepstakes Tournament was held with several twists in the game. Lunch at the South Clubhouse followed the game. Thanks to Mo Farra and Sandy Cooper for their creative-fun ideas and fantastic organization. As you can see the theme was very popular. Watch for information on a game wherein the Women's Golf Club will be inviting any Sun Lakes female golfers to join us on December 9th for our Open Invitational game.
