16 | SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2021 | We are so excited to have our new Executive Chef Noe Lorenzana in charge of our kitchen! I hope you attended the "Chef 's Table" and to meet Chef Noe. If not, there is talk that we may host another one for those who couldn't attend. He is doing an excellent job of introducing fresh new items while working on a new menu. Our committee is having some input to the offerings on the menu and hope it is more appealing to everyone. The Sunday Brunch continues to be a very popular offering and more and more residents are enjoying it. The entree items are varied each week. Our committee has added "Greeters for Restaurant & Lounge Committee" and they are greeting at the Restaurant during the dinner hour and on Sundays to help bridge the gap while we are short staffed. It's nice to see a familiar face when you come to dine and have been well received by the patrons. Thank you Victoria Simonton for taking charge of scheduling and staffing this endeavor. There has been additional staff hired but still need several more to bring us back to full staff and to open the Sandwedge for our dining pleasure. We hope you enjoy our decor on the tables and napkin color change for fall. Hopefully soon we will have some live green trees to enhance the restaurant. The Lounge continues to be busy especially on the weekends. Happy Hour is also well attended. Chef Noe is also offering new appetizers for the menu. We will be making some additions to our committee by the end of the year. Please turn in your application to the front desk if you have experience and have a desire to be on the committee. Our meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 2 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. We also have a "working lunch" on various Fridays during the month. ~ Dianne Patrick, Chair Restaurant & Lounge Advisory We have had some very close calls at intersections, especially near Gate 5 and where the golf course carts crossover the streets. We need to obey stop signs, no "California rolling stops." The new speed humps scheduled should be put down in the near future when they repave the streets. "Like a broken record" we need to slow down. It is nice to see the Banning Police patrolling here. ~ Bill Bess, (951) 769-8022 Safety Advisory Master Architectural Rules and regulations ensure an orderly and pleasant community, a high standard of living and a means to protect, preserve, and enhance property values. LANDSCAPING Q & A Q: Do I have to have a front yard tree? A: Yes. Each property belonging to the Master Association (Sun Lakes Country Club Homeowners Association) is required to have at least one front yard tree. While that tree may be any species that the homeowner is delighted to have, the tree must be at least five feet tall as measured from the ground around the tree, have a trunk with a girth at least three inches in circumference, and have a root ball at least 15 gallons in size. Q: Do I need to submit a Home Improvement application for changes to my rear yard? A: Yes. All changes to the exterior of the home, even those areas that are behind the rear yard fence and not viewable from the street or golf course, must receive prior approval from the Architectural Committee before they can be installed or completed. Forms are available in the Administration Office lobby and from the Sun Lakes Country Club HOA website. Q: Can I place a storage unit/storage shed on my property? A: Yes. You can after obtaining approval from the Master Architectural Committee regarding the size and placement of the shed. All storage sheds are to be located in the rear or side yards behind a solid fence or wall and shall not be visible from any street, common area or the golf course. Contact the Planning and Compliance Department in the Administration Offices for answers to your questions. ~ David Marshall Kealy, Chairman
