| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2021 | 33 Our gatherings have brought a whole new appreciation to everyone about the ability to get out and about and socialize again. Everyone is so joyful to get together and have a good time. Our September entertainment was our own Sun Lakes Makua Hula dancers. Our late leader and President, Barbara Finely, was also with the Makua Hula dancers. Since we shared Barbara, we consider them our "sister" club. They were so fabulous. No matter the age, size, coloring or appearance, they are all entirely feminine, graceful and in sync with one another. This dance troupe is incredibly professional and precise in their movements and I marvel at their "flow." Everybody loved them and I, for one, was ready for a trip to Hawaii! Our Thanksgiving celebration will be a variation from our regular location. For Thanksgiving gathering, we meet in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom on Nov. 28 at 3 pm. Our deadline for November reservations is Nov. 19 so please get your checks to Donna at 5393 Riviera, between Gates 1 and 3, by that date so we get our head count to the caterer. We will be entertained by the fabulous Radio Flyers who have not yet performed for us; I sincerely look forward to having them. Their voices are a marvelous blend for the ultimate listening experience. We have had so many inquiries about our club from people almost 80 so we need to share our rule that if you are within six months of turning 80, you are also welcome to join. I love that so many people are so eager to join, and we don't want them to have to wait. If you're just a few months away, come on in, we'd LOVE to have you! Then, both you and your spouse are both eligible to be a member of the wonderful 80s Plus Club. It is also common for members to bring guests whether, family, out-of-town guests, caregivers, or even other Sun Lakers who may want to give us a try before joining. We gather each month for a social dinner and first-rate entertainment. We are always in the South Clubhouse at 3 pm. In December, we meet Sun., Dec. 26. Our schedule will be changing in January, 2022 for the calendar year so stay tuned. Our dues are just $10 per year. Our gatherings have taken on a new life and energy — we are eager to see you at our next one!
