FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2021 45 Country Line Dancing Watch out, here come the holidays. So much fun! So many parties with extra food and often alcohol. Each of us must make wise choices to avoid quickly gaining weight. Somehow, those extra calories need to be offset with (the dreaded word) exercise. One wise choice is to dance those calories away. Music is good for the soul and dancing is good for both the mind and body. If your movements are limited, try some chair dancing. Move your legs and arms to the beat of the music. Sway back and forth, snap your fingers. Simply "get into" the music. You will feel good, and it will probably put a smile on your face! We are having a Country Line Dancing and More Party on Nov. 13. The "MORE" part simply means we will have other types of music besides country. Please watch the Daily Report for details. Our group has come a long way this year, learning many new dances in each level of the class. It has been great fun to watch people become more proficient at steps and be willing to try (and succeed at) some of the harder dances. It sure gives the mind a workout. I want to thank some of the people who help so much in the class: Elizabeth and Phillip Westbrook, Debbie Aiello, Val Hammel, Cindy Schwinn, Sherrie Barton, Jack Spies, Susie Harmon, Claudia Carpenter, Lori Crosse, Mary Christelman, and some I am probably forgetting. These folks are always ready to help someone learn a step or a dance or help me when I have a brain freeze. Thank you all; you make the class a success! Have a very Happy Thanksgiving. ~ Martha Franck, marthafranck@icloud.com, (714) 345-8588 Step It Up Line Dancing The Step It Up class has been going great, with a lot of fun and many new dances. Unfortunately, on Nov. 1 I'll be having knee-replacement surgery, so I will be taking some time off. I will give an update in next month's Breeze article as to when classes will resume. I will start off with the basic beginner class at 12:30 pm when classes start up again. In the meantime you know what I say, "practice three times a day, eight days a week." I hope to see y'all soon and happy Thanksgiving! ~ Janine Rohrbacker (949) 326-3133 Let's Dance! Our dance group has been enjoying the Latin dances these past two months and we continue in November with the Tango! This dance is not only fun to do… it teaches you how to lead and follow better than any other dance. Tango is dramatic and exotic and considered simple and easy to learn. We will be starting with the basics so everyone is encouraged to come. We have adjusted our Monday night class format to include an open practice from 6 to 6:30 pm, open to everyone and serves as a review of what we have been learning, followed by Beginners class 6:30 to 7:30 pm, and advanced 7:30 to 8:30 pm, $10 per person. Members are welcome to come to both classes, depending on your comfort level. Tickets are now on sale for our Christmas Dinner Dance on Friday, Dec.10 in the Ballroom. Tickets are $35 pp and include dancing to American Made Band and a catered buffet dinner. There is a poster in the Lobby with ticket information or feel free to contact any Let's Dance club member to purchase tickets. This is always a wonderful evening so don't miss out! For more information, Gary and Puring Stifter, (951) 922-8333 or purings@verizon.net. ~ Sue Condurachi Heart & Soul Line Dance Heart and Soul Line Dance meets Wednesdays, 4 to 6 pm, in The Lodge Ballroom. It is a mixed level class, easier dances used at the beginning slowly changing the complexity of the dances that move us through dance levels. We use a variety of music that can satisfy everyone's taste, all the steps are broken down, and dances are repeated as we continue to incorporate new dances. Come on out and give us a try. If you have any questions, contact Priscilla Robles at (909) 239-6464. See you all on the dance floor! ~ Priscilla Robles
