Theatre Arts 12 | OHCC LIVING | NOVEMBER 2021 | Aaaaaaaaand, we're off to a good start! Oct. 4 was our first in-person Monday membership meeting and entertainment since re-opening. We were honored to watch an interactive presentation of "Women Talk: Women of History," presented by the Quad Collaborative. Hopefully, we will get to hear more from them in the future. Theatre Arts' Play Readers Theater will present their final Zoom Play production for 2021 during the week of Dec. 13. We will feature three short plays that will begin rehearsals in October. Remember only members of OHCC Theatre Arts club will receive an invitation to view our zoom shows. Membership is only $10/year, and we plan to continue with our FREE zoom productions into 2022. Actors' Workshop and Readers' Theatre's fearless leader, Sally Benton, announced that they are off to a great start with 17 members registered for the class. "We've been focusing on developing fun characters through acting skits, improvisation and scripted materials. Part of the class is designed to also read various forms of literature and learn about performance skills for Readers' Theatre. We have lots of new faces and some veteran actors also. It has been a delight to work with these creative folks. We are hoping to perform throughout the season for live audiences here at OHCC." In the meanwhile, consider joining by contacting Sally (moki2@cox.net). Classes are Wednesdays, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, in the Majorca Room. Our nominating committee has composed a slate of officers for 2022, which consists of our current Board (no one else seems to want this job). We will vote on the slate, and take nominations from the floor, at our annual meeting, Nov. 1, at 7 pm. The Museum of Making Music will present a program at our Nov. 1 meeting. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Members only. We opted to cancel our October meeting, so our next Board meeting is scheduled for Nov. 18 at noon, in the Majorca Room. Board meetings are open to all members, so please come and join us. Our Dec. 6 party promises to be big fun for all. We'll have food provided by Bobby's Hideaway with music provided by Ricky Rivera. Details will follow via flyers and email as the date approaches. Join Theatre Arts so you can participate in all of our entertainment and activities. If you were NOT a member in 2020, or are a NEW RESIDENT of OHCC, please bring a check for annual dues in the amount of $10 per person to the Clubhouse desk to be put in the Theatre Arts folder. Make sure your check has your name, address, phone number and email address on it. If you pay in October, your membership will continue through 2022! Check out our new and improved website, where you can read of our activities, read past OHCC Living articles, and check out past and future productions. The address is http://www.ohccdg.wixsite. com/theatrearts.
