FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2021 7 By Cindy Graves The holidays are here. I can't believe it's the end of the year already, but here we are. It's been a weird year and I thought that since it's not been the happiest year we've ever had, that we should end 2021 with lots of laughter, lights, and liquor (or maybe I should say "Wassail" or perhaps just leave it at partying)? In any case, the "Four Seasons Holiday Extravaganza" (which is the name I use for our initial celebrations to start the holiday festivities off in the neighborhood) will start Friday, Dec. 3 with our Annual Golf Cart Parade and Competition. The line up starts at The Lodge parking lot with the decorated cart competition at 6:20 pm, followed by the parade at 6:30 pm. Everyone with a golf cart or e-bike is welcome to join in. On Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 4 and 5, join us for the "Stratton Half-Brothers Holiday Show." It's a musical comedy, and just plain fun and entertaining. This show comes to you at no charge as the Association's way of wishing you a happy holiday. Tickets are required so we can ensure that we have no more than 300 attendees at each show. Stacy with the Kopper Kettle Bistro is collaborating with us on these events by offering a themed dinner to enjoy before the shows. More information on menus will be found in the Daily Report. Tuesday, Dec. 7, will be a "Souper" (yes, I did mean soup!) fun and informative Hanukkah party starting at 5 pm. You don't have to be Jewish to join us, and if you like the musical Fiddler on the Roof you're really going to enjoy this party with fascinating Fiddler Facts. The Jewish Culture Club is putting on this delightful and delicious event. They are serving all kinds of traditional soups along with the entertainment. Tickets are only $9 each so be sure to connect with Perry and Tami Goldstein or call The Lodge for more information. On Wednesday, Dec. 15, we will judge the "Best Decorated Home Competition." If you would like your home to be in the competition, come to The Lodge before Dec. 14 and put your name and address on our list. This ensures the judges get to your home and that you are included on the holiday home tour sheet for residents to use when out on their snowy sleigh or car rides. Winners will be announced on Friday, Dec. 17. If you love Christmas carols and the sound of Christmas bells, come on over to The Lodge and sing with us as we're accompanied by Sally White on piano. The Four Seasons Bell Choir will also make its debut. The Christmas sing-along is on Monday, Dec. 20 at 6 pm. The Bistro will be offering a humdinger of a holiday meal that evening, so you're welcome to have dinner before the sing-along and then treat yourself to some cookies afterwards. Everyone is welcome! Finally, nearly every group, club, and class will be having some sort of party or celebration this month, including karaoke, which will be on a special date, Sunday, Dec. 12 at 5:30 pm in The Lodge Ballroom. This is where the liquor and parties come in. It really has been a tough couple of years so here's wishing you the very merriest and happiest holiday ever! I love you and look forward to seeing you around The Lodge! Better days are coming in 2022! Activities Director Corner
