Our October trip to Apple Country in Oak Glen was so much fun, we decided to embark on another "Apple Adventure" mid-November. This time Julian was the destination with fall in full swing! Making up for lost time (due to COVID lockdowns), this active group of gardeners are not missing a beat regarding travel. Two more trips are planned before the end of 2021, beginning with family-owned Mundial Coffeehouse in Riverside on Thurs., Dec. 9. We will meet in the SW Lodge parking lot at 9:45 am, with plans to leave by 10. This should be an interesting trip as none of us have been previously. They boast "a superlative combination of plants and quality crafted fancy coffees all in one place." On Dec. 20, a very full day-trip is planned for Palm Desert, meeting at 9:30 am with plans to depart by 9:45 am. We will begin this trip with brunch at Sherman's Deli on Country Club Drive and then head over to the Living Desert for an afternoon of walking and learning about desert plant life and habitats. At 4:30 pm, we will break for a leisurely dinner on Tommy Bahama's Outdoor Rooftop in the El Paseo Shopping District. Returning back to the Living Desert for WildLights, we will spend the evening in a transformed Winter Wonderland of festive lights, a herd of life-size luminescent animal lanterns, the popular tunnel of lights, and a G-scale model train exhibit.* In lieu of these two trips, there will be no regular meeting in December. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season, with blessings for the New Year! Late Bloomers meets every second Monday at 1 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room (except for this month). All Four Seasons residents are welcome to attend meetings and trips. The Ladies Club hit one out of the ballpark this October. The committee of JoAnn Catalano, Sandra Stinnett, and Maggie Coleman hosted an outstanding Wine, Cheese, and Chocolate event for the October meeting. The Ballroom was decked to the hilt with fall-themed decorations and the buffet was filled with exotic cheeses, chocolates, and an array of wines and beverages. To wind down the meeting, Kathy Thuman hosted an accessory exchange. Tables were filled by the members with items such as purses, jewelry, scarves, hats, and misc. The idea was to bring something and take something and the ladies loved it. The club is thriving. Our membership and participation is growing. Over 20 members have joined in the last couple of months. We continue to offer creative and entertaining activities. The September Open House was a success and well attended. On Nov. 4, a group went to Martha Greene's for lunch in Redlands and some went on to tour the Kimberly Mansion. A committee is in the process of setting up our Christmas Luncheon. Instead of a gift exchange we will be having a sock exchange, complete with goodies placed in the toes of the socks for some added fun. Our current president, Lucille Gould has decided to step down for next year. A heartfelt thank you and a fond farewell to Lucille. We will still be counting on her for support and wisdom. With that being said, new officers for the club were chosen to lead the club through 2022. President, Debbie Foster; Vice President, Monica Scholl; Treasurer, Lynne Arias; Secretary, Caroline Ashford, Newsletter, Cookie Scott; Cheerleader, Patsy Racine. Congratulations. We continue to encourage all of the creative, fun ladies of Four Seasons to join us. For more information, contact Lucille Gould at (909) 921-6067.
