28 | OHCC LIVING | DECEMBER 2021 |
December is our "quiet" month in Sewing, Etc., as we use a lot
of time for holiday preparations and crafts for those we hold dear.
There is no meeting or class this month, but make sure to watch this
space for January's announcements!
The Kneedlers and Hookers will gather on Tuesdays from 4:15 to
5:45 pm, where you can pick up a new skill, share, or visit. Also, on
Tuesday evenings (6 – 8 pm) and Fridays (12 -3 pm) several quilters,
crocheters and sewers will get together for "Sew & Chats." These
gatherings are loosely structured and serve the soul as much as the
craft.
As always, there are five sewing machines and a serger available
for use by any member of the sewing club (in the sewing club room).
There are also two different sewing machines available for use by
non-members.
The pictures above reflect two of our resident grandparents
passing on their craft. These are the grandchildren of Gail Ebersole
and Kathy Moskovitz, who are showing off their holiday stocking
contributions to our program of giving. Theirs were part of the
350 that were handed over to the children of Camp Pendleton and
San Pasqual Academy. San Pasqual Academy also received pajama
bottoms for our cooler nights.
Reminders: Don't forget Do Dues Day, coming in January. Ours
are a great deal ($7 per year), and on that day we will have examples
of our projects to share with you. Also, don't forget the "free" box of
sewing, knitting, and crochet items that are donated by those who
no longer need the items. The box is located in the Sewing Club
Room on the front table. Feel free to take what you want and create
something wonderful!
If you are interested in participating in our activities and are not
sure who to reach out to for further information, please call Chris
Sanderson (858) 442-1834, or MaryLu Belisle (952) 454-1931 for
more information. Also, please visit our website, lovingly updated by
Terri Eckhardt, http://ohccsewing.wixsite.com/ohccsewing.
