| OHCC LIVING | JANUARY 2022 | 25 Papercrafting Club Happy New Year OHCC, from the Papercrafting club! This issue marks my one-year anniversary writing the article for this publication as the club's representative. I joined Papercrafting in January 2020 (right before COVID). It's been a real joy, and I've met many new and talented friends as a result. I hope you'll come see us at our booth on Do Dues Day and meet some of our wonderful crafters and learn a little bit about our club. In the meantime, you can stop by the showcase in the Galleria and see some of our handiwork on display! As we begin 2022, we have a newly elected board which will guide us and our club activities through 2022. They are: President: Rhonda Anchales; Vice President: Jaime Albano; Secretary: Debbie Cea; Treasurer: Shelley Bean; Membership: Karen Lohr. We thank Alison Vincent and Barbara Roe for their incredible service as Treasurer and Secretary of our club the past few years, and welcome Shelley and Debbie into their new roles. We're excited this year to welcome new members into Papercrafting once again! Last year, we did not recruit new members as the COVID lockdowns made us dependent on options like Zoom and solo projects at home, which were not conducive to teaching beginner Papercrafters. But since June, we've been meeting back at the Clubhouse and are absolutely ready to welcome new members! Since our last Beginner group formed in early 2020, we have had to say goodbye to a few members. Sadly, some have passed away. Others have moved away or decided to try other things and we remember them fondly. But it's now time to round up some newbies on Do Dues Day! We'll be waiting for you at our booth in the hall and looking forward to signing you up in our new beginner's class! If you're an experienced crafter, never fear. We'll get you into one of our other more advanced groups. In the meantime, we wish our two members enjoying birthdays this month, a very happy celebration and we honor their growing wisdom, and longevity! Happy Birthday, Mary Ann Barbee and Margaret Burgess. For my usual closing, let me wish you all the best as we celebrate our national holidays during the month of January. Some are more well-known or solemn than others, but many bring a smile and a way to reach out to others to celebrate both old and new events and traditions. Happy New Year, 1/1; The Epiphany, 1/6; Law Enforcement Appreciation, 1/9; Martin Luther King Jr. 1/17; Community Manager Appreciation Day, 1/24; Spouses Day, 1/26, Holocaust Remembrance Day 1/27. Thank you to our neighbors and friends for keeping each other safe, for checking on each other and for keeping each other's spirits up during this difficult time! May 2022 be a great year to remember! Do you need a temporary loan of medical equipment?
