Happy New Year! This will be a busy
month for everyone.
Getting into the swing of things, our
first meeting of the year will be held on
Jan. 6, at 9:30 am in the Lamia Room at our
Clubhouse. The quick business meeting is
always followed by our favorite part, Show
and Tell. Be sure to bring your projects for
a quick presentation to our group – it is
what inspires us over and over again.
Sat., Jan. 8 is the annual Do Dues Day,
a chance to see a showcase of all the clubs
and activities available to our residents.
Sewing, etc. will be there in force to display
what we are all about. Our annual dues are
$7 (such a deal). Check or cash is accepted,
with the check made out to Sewing, Etc.
Our free class this month is on the third
Thurs., Jan. 20 at 9:30 am in the Sewing
Room. This month is our annual Meet
the Machines and tour of the sewing
room's supplies that are available for
use by members. We have five Brother
sewing machines and a serger that are
available, plus just about every supply
that anyone could need to help complete
a project. If you are new to OHCC or just
need a refresher course, we look forward
to seeing you!
The Kneedlers and Hookers gather on
Tuesdays from 4:15 to 5:45 pm, where
you can pick up a new skill, share, or visit.
Also, on Tuesdays from 6 to 8 pm and
Fridays from 12 to 3 pm several quilters,
crocheters, and sewers will get together for
Sew & Chats. These gatherings are loosely
structured and tend to keep us in touch…
there's always something to chat about!
