| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JANUARY 2022 | 9 Social Committee Happy New Year everyone! Since this article had to be turned in at the beginning of December, we hope you were able to enjoy the Holiday Home Tour and the "A Night at the Flamingo" New Years Eve celebration. Look for some pictures in the February issue of the Herald. The Social Committee has many exciting events planned for 2022. We will be celebrating Mardi Gras with an all day event in February. April brings back an evening event of Hollywood Revisited. Then looking forward to a "Muy Bien" time at the Cinco de Mayo celebration in May. Postponed because of COVID-19, let's get "All Shook Up" at our annual Tribute Concert starring "Elvis" in June. July brings the annual 4th of July Celebration and don't forget the Movies Under the Stars in August. We have a Luau planned for September and a mini concert in November. We have a busy year planned for this great community and we will need volunteers to help with these event committees. Look for eblasts! We had five new members join the Social Committee this year. We'd like to introduce you to our fourth newest member, Iren Jureczky (at right). She and her husband moved here to Four Seasons in 2016 and are glad they did. They have two adult kids, a daughter and a son, and two wonderful grandkids! She worked in the accounting field and her husband is an electrical engineer. She loves what the Social Committee is doing for this community. She hopes that her skills and ideas will help the committee to keep up all their good work. Each year I remark about how fast the year has gone by. This year it just went "poof." Hard to believe the year is 2022! The Library Committee wishes all of you a healthy, happy new year. It's a time we can decide to do things different. Why not make reading a little different by picking up a book by an author you've never read. Even try different themes. Mix things up. We were delighted to have so many residents join us when Ellyn Wolfe spoke in November. We had difficulties getting things set up but Ellyn worked through it all. Thanks Ellyn! On Jan. 13 we are going to have Pamela Hayter, author of Secret Seahorse Tales speak. It is a delightful book. Many of you have seen her art work based on the characters in the book. Mark your calendar; this will be fun! "The hardbound fiction displayed is from 2013-2021. The paperback books displayed are from 2017-2021. The non-fiction books can be found in the cabinets under the paperback bins. If you have not been in the library lately, the magazines are back! The rack is overflowing. Thank you for the donations. Only magazines from the current three months are being displayed. Our Four Season's authors have been so generous with their donations to our library. You will find these books displayed throughout the library. Some of the books are on the coffee table while others can be found on the Four Seasons author shelves below the hardbound books. All of the authors have donated these books at their own expense. Please return them as quickly as possible so that other residents may enjoy them." ~ This piece was prepared by Sue Corum last month, I loved it and am using it this month. I have written the newsletter since the beginning, along with Landscape News and Sunshine News. Committee members are taking turns writing the news and giving me a break. I know you will enjoy the different ways of writing to say the same things each month! And, I welcome the rest. We had so many families coming for puzzles last month. Residents had families visiting and having a puzzle set on a table provided great "together time." If you received new puzzles, work them and then donate to our library. I must say I am impressed by everyone taping the box before bringing them back. Thank you. ~ Cookie Thoughts from bionic Blair: "What in the world would we do without our libraries?"
