By Kara Lukasik Thank you to everyone who attended our New Year's Eve party this year. It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves. Thanks to Thomas and Chef Noe for a night of wonderful food and drink! Also, a BIG thank you to the Recreation Advisory Committee and staff for all their assistance in transforming the Ballroom into the Black & Gold Extravaganza it became. Now that we have this first month of the new year behind us, it's time to do a little housekeeping. On Tues., Feb. 1 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom, I am asking that each group/club send one representative to our Annual Room Reservation Meeting. This will be where we will discuss the process for room reservation for 2023. We will also pass out the forms for the annual group/club verification process. I look forward to seeing representatives from each group/club and working together toward ensure everyone has what they need to successfully continue with their group/club into 2023 and beyond. There is little doubt that the legendary band Queen and lead performer Freddie Mercury earn high ranks as one of the most powerful and iconic groups in rock history. Queen, the kings of arena rock, performed to packed stadiums around the globe for over two decades. Queen Nation, a tribute to Queen, is the West Coast's longest running most authentic costumed recreation of a Vintage Queen concert. The show consists of four musicians who all sing and perform in character and in period costumes while playing live note-for-note renditions of Classic Queen songs including We Will Rock You, Bohemian Rhapsody, We Are The Champions, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, You're My Best Friend, Another One Bites The Dust, Under Pressure and many more. Featured front man vocalist Gregory Finsley is an amazing singer with an uncanny tone that matches the late, great Freddy Mercury to a tee. Gregory also is an excellent concert pianist which allows him to accurately recreate what Freddy Mercury magically did live on stage in Queen's original four-piece lineup. Queen Nation has been crowned by their loyal legion of fans as "The People's Choice Tribute To Queen Champions" arguably they are one of the hardest working tribute bands in the US.
