Garden Club
The Garden Club Board is busy planning
another year of informative programs on
various garden related topics as well as special
events and activities. A warm welcome to
new members who joined recently and a
hearty 'welcome back' to returning members.
We appreciate everything that members do
throughout the year to make the meetings
and activities both enjoyable and successful.
(If you have not joined yet for the new year,
just drop off a check for $10 at the Front Desk
made out to 'OHCC Garden Club')
Monthly meetings are held on the second
Wednesday of every month in Abravanel
Hall. The guest speaker for the Feb. 9
meeting is Pat Flanagan, the owner and
CEO of the Butterfly Farm in Encinitas. The
Butterfly Farm is a non-profit organization
established in 2012. It is dedicated to
education and research on Monarch
butterflies. Pat will speak on the importance
of conserving native butterflies and their
habitats. He has also been helpful to the new
butterfly group here in OHCC.
All residents and guests are invited to
attend meetings. The doors open promptly
at 9:30 am for coffee, goodies and social
time, followed by the program at 10 am. We
hope to see you there!
