30 | OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2022 | Happy February! As we are very hopeful that we will continue to get back to "normal" in 2022, we are making plans for more programs and trips for the year. Please mark your calendars for the General Programs scheduled for the first half of the year in Abravanel Hall. Our Social Hour begins at 6:30 pm with light refreshments and is followed by our program presentation at 7 pm. Our next program will be held on Mon., March 14. Our guest speaker is Chrissy Allen, Reservations & Customer Service Manager with DayTripper Tours. She will be sharing trips that are available through DayTripper. On Mon., May 9, our Program guest speaker will be Melissa Sciacca, Executive Director, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust USA. For nearly half a century, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has been a force for conservation, operating six key programs to save Kenya's wildlife and secure its rapidly disappearing ecosystems. As for our trips, on Feb. 24, we are traveling to Fallbrook to take a tour of REINS (Riding Emphasizing Individual Needs and Strengths), a non-profit program where children and adults with disabilities learn how to ride horses and have fun doing it. Lunch will be in downtown Fallbrook followed by a visit to the Fallbrook Art Center. We will see their 13th annual World of Watercolor exhibit, featuring 120 original works of art by artists from around the world. On March 24, we will be going to Newport Beach for a tour of the Sherman Library and Gardens, as well as other sights. More details will be available soon. On Tues., Aug. 2, we are going again to see the fabulous Pageant of the Masters. This outdoor theatrical performance features famous works of art which are brought to life onstage. The theme for 2022 is "Wonderful World," which will highlight art from distant lands, cultural celebrations and fascinating moments in world history. The price is $154 and is non-refundable. We are also creating more trips for 2022. Flyers on all of our trips are available in the Trip Rack in the Clubhouse.
