| OHCC LIVING | FEBRUARY 2022 | 41 Founders Duplicate Bridge Friday Duplicate Bridge We play every Tuesday at 6 pm, in the Mykonos Room. We welcome bridge players of all level players to join us. Phyllis Skall and Mary Sullivan cooked up great dinner. The membership fee is for the year is $10. The table fees are $2 which is distributed to the winners. The final game of the year was held on Dec. 28. Janice and Andy Boyer scored the only hat-trick, of bidding and making three slams in a row. Few rounds later they extended their lead by bidding and making the only Grand Slam of the month. With Duplicate Bridge, your true opponents are the pairs that hold the same cards as you would, rather than your opponents at the table. We are not an ACBL game and for that, we not only offer an extremely reasonable game price of just $2, but also give cash awards to the winners. We are relatively small and have anywhere from five to eight tables. The games are at 1 pm on the second, fourth, and fifth Fridays of the month in the Hall. If you are planning on playing you will be responsible for finding a partner, and to let me know no later than early Thursday afternoon prior to the Friday game date. It is also assumed that you know the basics of Standard American Bridge, this is not a bridge training course but a tournament. You do not have to join this club to play your first game; however, if you decide to join, the annual dues are $6. Inspiration Hill As we walk the trail at Inspiration Hill, we are always impressed by the varied community inspirations as expressed on the Donor Bricks. The trail begins by honoring our pioneer OHCC Founders, and continues with those who so bravely served us. There are bricks honoring family members, beloved pets, and favorite universities. What is your inspiration? The HOA continues to take orders for your own personalized bricks. Fill out an order form at the HOA office, and include a check for $75. Your inspiration brick will help line the trail to the top of the hill!
