38 | OHCC LIVING | APRIL 2022 | Garden Club The Garden Club recently took on a new project to plant and maintain seasonal flowers in two blue planters near the Clubhouse entrance. The flowers will add color for everyone to enjoy throughout the year. Our guest speaker for the April 13 meeting will be Linda Bressler, owner of Living Designs by Linda. She will speak about drought tolerant plants that can add color in the garden year-round. Linda is a Landscape Designer with certificates in Horticulture and Landscape Design from George Washington University, Howard Community College and Cuyamaca College. She is also a licensed C-27 Landscape Contractor. Linda was the Grand Prize Winner of the 2012 Garden of the Year contest sponsored by San Diego Home/Garden Magazine. In 2015, another of Linda's designs won the California Friendly Landscape Contest. All residents and guests are welcome to attend the monthly Garden Club meetings, which are held on the second Wednesday of each month in Abravanel Hall. The doors open promptly at 9:30 am for coffee, goodies and social time, followed by the program at 10 am. Be sure to get your raffle ticket when you arrive for a chance to win a prize. Hope to see you on Wed., April 13. Calorie Free Happy Hour If you are interested in improving strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and overall body conditioning, then you may want to consider attending an aerobics class to see if it fits your needs. This is an all standing low impact class… NO JUMPING! Christine leads each class in a warm up session followed by the aerobic session, and then she does a cool down. We use light weights for the last 10 minutes of the class. Christine sometimes adds a few exercises for balance and an easy dance for fun. Classes are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in Abravanal Hall from 10 to 11 am with instructor Christine Alesiani. You can choose the number of classes each week that you would like to attend. There is no class available on the second Wednesday of each month. The cost is $5 cash per class paid directly to the instructor. You can pay for, and try, two classes without joining the club. The annual club dues are $6 (please make the check payable to OH Aerobics). For information, contact Margie Raisigel (Club President) at (760) 855-8838 or sungee@pacbell.net. Aerobics
