8 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | APRIL 2022 | I highly doubt that we will be lucky enough to have any April showers, but if we do, lets give our thanks and enjoy them because they are truly needed! Rain or shine, we will be enjoying ourselves at the delicious April's Sunday Brunch on the 10th, which is also Palm Sunday. The following Sunday, April 17, being Easter, we will again be allowed to indulge in all the goodies of the regular Sunday Brunch plus some added goodies, with one possibility being prime rib. I'm pretty sure Francisco will have some additional joys for your dessert taste buds as well. Another alert — be on the look out for some fish specials on Good Friday the 15th! As always, reservations will be needed, so be prepared and make that phone call. Please watch for the e-blasts which are always sent as a reminder! Did you notice that the weekly Bistro specials are now out earlier in the week? This was done so you can plan your dining pleasure ahead of time; if you are happy with this arrangement, please let the Bistro committee or Bistro staff know that it is appreciated. Have you ever noticed how sometimes things appear to be one way and then with more information it ends up exactly the opposite? That is sort of what happened on Valentine's Day dinner at the Bistro. A wedding reception was booked in the Ballroom for guests arriving at 5:30 pm. Residents were unhappy when they were unable to get seating in the Ballroom which, at that time, was totally empty. The wedding got stalled, traffic tie-ups, problems – who knows? The guests finally started arriving at 7:05 pm. I'm happy to say they were able to relax while feasting on the buffet Francisco had waiting for them when they walked through the door. They regretted the big delay and late arrival at The Lodge, and the worry the staff experienced about their late arrival. Even so, the wedding was still a happy celebration for the bride and groom. At least they were able to enjoy, albeit for a short time, their dinner and reception before they all very quietly departed The Lodge by 8:55 pm, as required by their contract. By unanimous decision, it was decided that no other events should be booked on major holidays! I'd like to THANK those of you kindhearted patrons who enjoyed their Valentine's dinner outdoors under romantic twinkling stars those who enjoyed the glow from heaters that warmed the night. Our thanks to you for understanding, for going with the flow, and frankly just being good sports about the whole situation! Last, but not least, the lucky winners of February's "Sunday Brunch for Two" are Fred and Claudette Gilbert. The ticket was drawn by Greg Rockvam at the Board of Directors meeting on Feb. 23. My thanks to the Gilberts and all of you previous winners who allowed your pictures to be taken and shared with our readers; it's more fun to have faces to go with their names.
