Greetings from the Solera Quilters! We meet in the Arts & Crafts Room at noon on Mondays. All are welcome. Our quilting "blitz" was held on April 23 and a fun time was had by all. The sewing machines were humming along. Our Mystery Quilt project is complete. Our ladies have assembled them and they are really uniquely lovely. March 9 was National Quilt Day and many of our members hung their quilts from their front entryways. Hope some of you saw them. We have had some quilt "demos." Jeanne showed us her method of finishing the binding around our quilts. Pat uses our quilting scraps to stuff pillows she has made for various charitable organizations. Some of our gals have created quilts in blue and yellow to honor the Ukraine people. A website has been created giving directions on how to make these banners. The quilters will be decorating the display case in June. Hope you will all give us a "look see." Future demonstrations of various quilting techniques will be offered throughout the month by Penny – reverse applique, and another by Pat of how to make piping which will enhance quilt borders. We are a fun group and encourage new residents who love quilting to join us. QUILTERS The members of the Sunshine Club are delighted to announce that as members of the Sunshine Club, we are always delighted to hear back from recipients of our cards and flowers advising us how comforting and hopeful it made them feel to know that others cared about them in their time of need. If you are someone who believes in putting "Sunshine" back in the lives of others by sending cards and flowers to residents who are sick or have experienced a death in the immediate family, we would love to have you join us at our meetings. Our Club meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 2 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room. If you have any questions about our Club or its activities, please contact Judy Charlick at (951) 769-6465. This is also a REMINDER that the recycling of all plastic water bottles, juice and tea drink bottles as well as all aluminum cans (for which you paid the redemption fee) is continuing as usual. Each recyclable item must be clearly imprinted on its label or side with the words CA-CRV or CA CASH REFUND. Recycling is good for the health of our community!
