CINCO DE MAYO FIESTA Saturday, May 7, 6 to 10 pm The date for this fun event is right around the corner, so if you didn't get tickets before but would like to join us, don't hesitate, we have only a few tables left! Tickets are $25 per person (checks only please, payable to The Colony at California Oaks HOA Social Committee or leave blank and we will stamp your check). This includes a Mexican style buffet and virgin margaritas (BYOB). Music will be by DJ Nate and in addition, we will have live entertainment by a group of Folklorico Dancers. To purchase tickets or if you have any questions, please contact Ramona Sanchez at (951) 239- 8356 or Donna Kennedy at (951) 816- 0022. Saturday, May 21, from 8 to 11 am, Clubhouse parking lot. It is also Armed Forces Day and to honor our military and first responders, the Car Show will be a charitable event. Our charity is 4Paws 4Patriots. They provide service dogs and training for disabled veterans and first responders. You will be able to meet a representative and one of their service-trained dogs at the show. Some of the men and women can have difficulties buying dog food for their partners. When this is the case, 4Paws generously provides the food. While the Car Show is free to attend, we would greatly appreciate any donation you would like to bring. All donations will go to 4Paws 4Patriots. Following is a list of items needed. Bottled water; Leather leashes; Bagged dog food; Travel crates; Dog beds medium or large; Monetary gifts. For more information, please contact Angela Nuñez at 909-241-6889. Spring 2022 Car Show Sunday, May 22, 11 am to 1 pm. The Colony and Cottage Tea Parties will be hosting our very first Tea Party for you and your friends. This experience is served in four courses and includes: Endless Tea (large selection of teas), seasonal fruit cups, warmed English scones with cream and jam, choice of tea- sized sandwiches, and mixed miniature desserts. This will be a full-service event complete with wait staff and china, but feel free to bring your favorite cup. You will not want to forget to stop by the photo booth! Guests will be seated at tables of 8. Tickets are $26 per person. Checks payable to: The Colony HOA. Cottage Tea Party: Date Change Thursday, May 12, 10 am. Please join us in the Lounge as our guest speaker, Jenna Pellegrini M.S. CCC-CLP, CDP, owner of Vault with Your Voice Speech and Swallowing Services, discusses communication strategies for those caring for someone with Dementia/Alzheimer's disease. Since 2013, Jenna has been serving clients in inpatient and outpatient environments and has also obtained a certification as a Certificate Dementia Practitioner (CDP). We look forward to having you!
