28 | THE COLONY NEWS | MAY 2022 | CLUB NEWS Would you like to meet some new friends and fellow Colony residents? Come to Tuesday Night Social. We meet from 5 to 6 pm every Tuesday in the Lounge. It's BYOB, also bring something to eat and/or share with others. We contribute a small amount each week which goes towards the purchase of pizza for everyone. Pizza night is the third Tuesday of the month. If you have any further questions, give me a call at (951) 461-8821. We hope to see you there. Tuesday Night Social By Joyce Hansen Petal Pushers Garden Club By Lauren Tyson, 951-226-4038 Who among us has not occasionally felt weary or alone these days? Thankfully, Nature is ever-present to soothe our souls and lift our hearts — and it is right outside our doorstep. Springtime is the season of renewal and the perfect time for improvements, large or small, to your outdoor spaces. The upcoming Colony Garden Tour presented by the Petal Pushers Garden Club is a clever way to get ideas to enhance your environment with plants, a succulent collection, a patio cover, fountains, solar lights, wind chimes, fencing, exterior art or curiosities. Date: Saturday, May 14, 11 am to 3 pm You can take part in this fun event by: 1. Putting your home on the tour. It does not matter if you display your entire yard, a special plant or collection, or an object of art. Someone will be interested! Visitors do not go into your home. You may wish to be available to answer visitors' questions or not — either is fine. 2. Attending the tour. Be at the Clubhouse Library at 10:30 am to pick up your map of homes, along with a flyer describing the yards and points of interest. 3. Being a greeter. If you would like to be a greeter at a home or help with organizing, we would appreciate your help. For more information, contact Brenda Sindorf at 698-7097 dancerone@verizon.net or Gloria Brosky at 714-292-8507 gabroksy@ att.net. You have to believe that buds will grow, Believe in the grass in days of snow. That's the reason a bird can sing, On his darkest day, he believes in Spring. – Douglas Malloch Fred Renzoni will be here on Wednesday, May 18, to present some of the fine wines of Robert Renzoni Vineyards. Tickets will be sold in the Atrium on Monday, May 2, from 10 am to 12 pm. Ticket prices are $25 for members and $30 for member guests. Auditorium doors will open at 5 pm. Save the date: On Wednesday, June 15, we will be taking our annual Wine Country Bus Tour. The destination and ticket price have not been determined at press time. Tickets will be sold in the Atrium on Monday, May 23, and Tuesday, May 31, from 10 am to 12 pm. Tickets will be limited, so get them early as this event always sells out.
