14 | OHCC LIVING | JUNE 2022 | If the amount of applause after the "I'm Too Sexy for My Shirt" dance is an indication, the men's group dance was definitely one of the most popular in our Dancing Under the Big Top performance. The dance this year was choreographed by our dance teacher, Yvonne Jensen, and taught by Connie Perkins. The circus strongmen strutted their stuff to the laughter of themselves and the audience. But that is no surprise, as the men have consistently been favorites since they were formed in 2014 by Chuck Miller. The men have cheerfully donned funny costumes and danced to whatever song they were given. These brave guys are more likely to be seen on the golf course or a sports court than on a dance floor, but they are willing to step out of their comfort zone to do something fun. They come to practice for several months before a show with enthusiasm and a great sense of humor, and they work hard to get those cha-chas and pinwheels down. This year, the men's group consisted of Chuck Miller, Pete Cannon, Scott Goldwasser, Steve Ward, Joe Itson, John Crow, Alan Ballard, Walt Webber and Tim Pentel. Several of the men also dance with their partners in the theater dance group. They keep coming back because they have fun and love performing for such appreciative audiences. Now that we are done with this year's show, it is the perfect time for you to join us in one or more of our classes.
