FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2022 7 By Cindy Graves July starts out with a big bang on the Fourth of July at The Lodge! This year we're having a Patriotic Pool Party and Dance Picnic. To begin the festivities, we'll have the ever-amazing Classic Car, Motorcycle, and 4x4 parade with vehicle line up at 10:30 am at The Lodge and start time at 11 am. The Kopper Kettle will also be joining the fun by collaborating with me to provide the hot dog and hamburger picnic plates, all the Fourth of July snacks and fun treats, including homemade ice cream and pops, as well as my favorite, Boosey snow cones. (Bring your own vodka for fruity martini snow cones or tequila for margarita snow cones…. Or for the kids and teetotalers, we'll have the standard non-alcoholic cones.) You are also welcome to bring your own special picnics and drinks from home if you'd prefer. To add to the fun and entertainment, we'll have Balloon Artists blowing party favors and Face Painters to jazz up your social media selfie posts. If you love partying to live music, we've got Standard Jazz from 12 to 12:45 pm and then the new group called "The Broadcasters" from 1 to 4 pm. They'll be playing country, classic rock, blues, disco, and salsa. This will provide a little dancing and listening pleasure to pretty much everyone. We'll have speakers for the pool area, so you won't miss out on the band playing inside The Lodge. To conclude our Lodge celebration, we'll be having the famous Fourth of July golf cart parade, with line-up at 3:45 pm, golf cart competition at 4 pm, and parade start time at 4:15 pm. You're actually welcome to stay at The Lodge until closing at 7 pm if you like, or you may want to wander on over to The Summit to get a good place to see the city fireworks. The Summit will have extended hours that night until 10 pm. It's going to be blast, so don't miss out! Karaoke will be on Saturday, July 16 at 5 pm this month, so be sure to save the date for that if you love singing, socializing, and just plain having a good time for free. Feel free to bring your dinners and drinks in with you. I also want to give you a little heads up for the next Movie Night at the Amphitheater — the date will be Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 8 pm. We had such a good time at our last movie night… kind of like being at an old-fashioned drive-in theater in a convertible, only the open-air vehicle you're driving is your lawn chair. The movie at the time of this writing is still not confirmed, but I think whatever the Amphitheater Production team picks out will be a good one. I hope to see you there!
