30 | LIFE IN SOLERA | JULY 2022 |
QUILTERS
We meet each Monday at 12 pm in the Arts & Crafts Room.
So many of our quilters belong to the Pass Patcher's Quilt Guild.
Our own Penny Wyckoff is the new President and she has arranged
a new venue for the Guild. They will be meeting the third Tuesday of
each month at the Chatigny Center here in Beaumont.
Linda announced a 2022 So Cal Quilter's Run July 14-17 and July
21-24. Surely some of our ladies will be on the "run" for this event.
Barbara has introduced a block-0f-the-month quilt pattern
"Summer Garden." Many quilters have started on this project and
have displayed their completed squares. A unique Ladybug square
has been created by Barbara and samples have inspired many gals to
include this in their quilts. Kudos for creativity!
Pat demonstrated the technique for constructing microwave
"cozies." Her directions were very clear and ladies got busy and made
lots of them.
Penny Quinn makes a special quilt for the Dorothy Ramon
Learning Center's annual fundraising event. The theme for this
year is a Celebration of Resiliency. Penny brought her quilt for our
viewing before sending it off to be auctioned off for the fundraiser
and we were all amazed at the Dragonfly theme she created.
The D R L C's mission is saving and sharing So Cal's Native
American Cultures.
Two of our ladies contribute their talents to Santa Claus Inc., a
youth social services organization in San Bernardino. So much good
work for so many good causes.
New residents, you are welcome!
