| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2022 | 3 General Manager's Message By Rick Ruth, CMCA It's July already! A couple of items: Home Maintenance: I don't think it's a surprise to any of you that home maintenance never ends. Many homes are now 18+ years old. The property inspections that management performs on a regular basis continues to focus on homes in need of maintenance, painting, landscaping replacement, etc. Please take a look at the exterior of your home and if it needs painting, before you paint, please remember the ARC Standards: "Before commencing with any alteration, modification, painting, landscaping, etc., residents must obtain written approval of the ARC." PLEASE GET APPROVAL FIRST! Any work that is done without prior approval will result in the owner being called to a hearing. This started in March/April and the Board has already met with half a dozen owners and imposed sanctions. Please contact The Lodge (during weekday business hours) and ask for Maria Donti if you plan on doing any exterior improvements, modifications, or landscape changes. A five-minute call can save you a lot of grief. Bicycling in the Community: When riding your bicycle in the community, please observe the stop signs, be aware of approaching vehicles entering the roadways, and watch your speed when riding downhill on Stephenson. The drivers may not always see you so please ride defensively. Also, a friendly reminder that bicycling on the Paseos is prohibited. Another subject for this month's article: Picking up after your pets! Pet owners — please refrain from letting your dog urinate on your fellow neighbor's lawns. Residents work very hard to keep up their lawns and with summer here, the challenge increases with the heat. Urine kills the grass unless it is immediately diluted with water. The corner lots that have grass seem to be more of a target. If you bring a bottle of water with you, and your dog goes on someone's lawn, pour some water on the spot. At least it'll help dilute the urine. I also want to mention when dogs go "number two" you are responsible for picking up after your dogs. Please be a responsible pet owner and good neighbor. Based on some of the current news showing very low water levels of several major lakes (Powell and Mead), I anticipate the state or the Metropolitan Water District will be announcing a water emergency for Riverside County very soon. With that said, if you haven't tested your sprinkler system within the last four to six months, please do so. This is about saving water. We've been preaching this message for quite a while now and taking measures to limit the overspray of your sprinklers will also go a long way in helping reduce damage to the association's asphalt roadways. May you and your family have a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July! There is a lot to be thankful for.
