12 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2022 | Facilities Committee What is the most important value of volunteerism? One of the more well known benefits of volunteering is the "impact on the community." Volunteering allows you to connect to your community and make it a better place. Even helping out with the smallest tasks can make a real difference. The Facilities Committee works to maintain and improve our Four Seasons community in many different ways. Examples are the extra lighting of our streets and walkways. Future projects include the refurbishing of our sports courts which should happen this year. One major project the committee is working on is the Solar Panel Project for our Lodge. The Board of Directors have approved the cost of the engineering of this project. Once this is completed, it will go to the Board of Directors for final approval or rejection. There are many committees that need volunteers. Check them out and see what interests you. As we enter July and the summer months, our wildfire exposure increases significantly. Now is the time to plan and undertake steps to mitigate fire hazards on your patio and around your home. Also have a plan to take important documents, pictures, etc. if evacuation is required. Do you have the Duo Response signs in your window? It is the only reliable path to help during a disaster. Survive… get the signs from The Lodge attendant. More information is available at www.fscert.org Our Mission: The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program is designed to increase individual and community preparedness and self-reliance in the event of man-made or natural disasters. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has officially recognized CERT as an important part of a community's disaster preparedness readiness. Four Seasons CERT continues to need your participation. Become a Street Captain or CERT Auxiliary. We hope to have the 20-hour Basic CERT training this summer. Step up. Be a part of the best CERT in the valley, and come make a difference. For more information visit https://fscert.org/cert-volunteer Emergency Preparedness
