| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2022 | 17 "Say it with Flowers" took on a whole new meaning after our June trip to the Lavender Festival in Cherry Valley. Who knew there was so much to be 'said' with lavender? A grand trip indeed with many making plans to go back before the Festival ends on July 31. Our club captured the attention of a UCCE Master Gardener who specializes in all species of lavender. Plans are being made for her to be a guest speaker t one of our meetings, and details will follow based upon scheduling. If you're curious about lavender and all its beneficial uses, check out their website at thelavenderfestival.com. Our meeting this month on July 11 at 1 pm, will be hosted by Roberta Feigenbaum and Mary Reyna at 7688 Armour Drive. Four Seasons residents curious about our wonderful club are encouraged to attend. Bringing light nibbles to share are always welcome, with cool refreshments being provided. Late Bloomers normally meets in the Arts Crafts Room the second Monday of every month at 1 pm. Until further notice, we are enjoying meeting in the homes and beautiful gardens of our host members. Stay tuned to the Herald for future monthly locations and upcoming trips. Sharing gardening tips, traveling together, learning from each other, and cultivating forever friendships are the blooms growing in our gardens. All residents are welcome to attend meetings and trips. For more info, please contact Sharon Deuber at (760) 500-0077 or Sharon@BlackDiamondInvestments.net. Late Bloomers Garden Club Needle Me Happy Fourth of July! How time flies when you're having fun! I thoroughly enjoy this group, possibly more for the socializing than anything else. Yes, it gives me a couple of hours away from the house to work on crochet projects, but it really is much more than that. We share and help each other out when needed. And the stories… Wow! Last month I mentioned one of our members who is currently working as a chaplain for Riverside University Health Systems in the palliative care department. She requested lap afghans or blankets for some of the patients. I would like to recognize a couple of our Needle Me ladies, Maggie Fussell and Shirley Barger, who immediately 'jumped on the bandwagon' and began sewing flannel blankets. However, I have to admit that when it comes to doing this article every month, I'm just about 'brain dead.' I'm really struggling for ideas to write about, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Meanwhile, I hope you all have a great Fourth of July, and keep those nimble fingers working. We meet on the first and fourth Friday of each month in the Arts & Crafts Room at 1 pm. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Bobbie Davis at (951) 223-3836 or Merilyn Burnside at (951) 658-8310.
