Cardio & Strength Join us for the Cardio & Strength Class taught by Certified Instructor Shannon Ramsey. This class is the perfect way to work on strength, balance, and endurance! We use exercise band and weights up to three pounds (which increases our strength and balance), while practicing step routines to choreographed music; this helps build our cardio endurance. Best part… it's completely modifiable to a chair routine so you can work at your own ability level. Exercise With A Certified Instructor All our exercise classes, offered by Shannon Ramsey, are now "Silver & Fit" and "Optum" certified. That means that if you have one of these programs as a benefit of your supplemental Medicare insurance, you can take these classes for FREE! If you do not have this benefit, you can still take the classes for $3/class or purchase a punch card for $30/10 classes (which can be used on all classes offered). All classes are offered with lower impact and chair options. Come try these classes. Shannon's certifications include AFAA, AEA, SPIN, RIPPED, ZUMBA, Silver Sneakers, Silver & Fit, Optum, and CPR/First Aid. Zumba Gold Come join us for Zumba, Zumba! If you like to dance come have fun with us! Zumba Gold is a great cardio workout designed for our age group and is easy to do. Our Certified Fitness Instructor Shannon Ramsey changes up the routines and music weekly. No prior experience is necessary… it's that easy! "Walk-Fit" Exercise Club Happy Independence Day! Summertime is definitely here and the days are warming up fast. If your outside exercise routine is being interrupted by the heat, why not give our "indoor" class a try. It is cool and comfortable in The Lodge Ballroom. We enjoy seeing new faces and hope you will join us. It is our goal to get Four Season residents moving. The class consists of nine different Leslie Sansone "Walk Fit" DVDs. The easy-to-follow routines are set to music with varying tempos. The complete class is four miles, but you can come late or leave early to shorten your routine and work at your own level. A few of the DVDs incorporate resistance bands (always optional). Some class members add light hand weights for added strength training. Stop by and give us a try. New members are always welcome. Class is free! For more information, contact Karen Tuvim (316) 260-0847. 28 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2022 | Finally! We will be having our Shuffleboard sign ups by the end of August. Look for the August Herald article and blasts for the exact date. We will play on Thursday morning starting in September and ending the end of November, first of December. Recently, I was asked if our shuffleboard court was regulation size. After some research, I found out we have what is called a Mini Court (6' by 40'). Can you believe there are so many different regulation sizes? Inside to outside vary in measurements. Something new to store in my memory bank. As always, any resident can play on their own — just ask at The Lodge desk and they will explain the process. Be careful on the courts as they can be very slick. Don't walk on the courts for your safety. The Monday/Friday group will be starting summer hours 8:30 am instead of 9 am. Have a wonderful rest of your summer. Questions? Just call Toni Harris at (951) 325-8357. Shuffleboard The SASY team was treated to a special Mother's Day remembrance by our only male member, Fred Rau. Thank you, Fred, for remembering the special ladies in your life – you lucky guy! We've been embracing the motto, "move or lose!" Certainly, as we age, all kinds of maladies haunt us. The SASY program gets you out of the house and into some movement and social time. Class time is one-half hour. We are a social group and retreat to the Bistro for breakfast after class to catch up on life activities. So, if you like a break from the norm, come and enjoy the fun. This class is free. We meet in The Lodge Ballroom at 8:30 am every Tuesday and Thursday. If you have questions regarding this class, please call Jeanne Lincoln (765-7112) or Char Weakley (926-2599).
