Since then, we have been adjusting watering times and working with the District for a variance as the restrictions are quite restrictive. We had some stressed turf in late June, early July, and while we are working to get the turf looking better with the drought and restrictions, we might have some stressed turf until cooler weather, unfortunately. SLOW DOWN A reminder I give at each Open Session Board Meeting is to slow down. Once you are home behind the gates, speeding or not stopping at stop signs will only "save" you a few seconds of time. Speed limits are 30 mph on the Circle, 25 mph on all side streets and 15 mph in parking lots. Please slow down and drive responsibly. DID YOU KNOW that our landscape contractor, Park West, will be mowing the turf throughout the community at four inches? A longer grass blade will shade the ground underneath, keeping it cooler, meaning it won't dry out as quickly as when the lawn is mowed short. In other words, the lawn does not have to receive as much supplemental water. DID YOU KNOW that the community water features have all been turned off, in accordance with restrictions imposed by Beaumont Cherry Valley Water District, our water provider? It's true that all of our fountains and ponds make use of recycled water, but they still lose water to evaporation. DID YOU KNOW that the flower beds in front of The Lodge and in the front of The Summit have been set up for seasonal color? Three times a year, Park West replaces the annuals. We've had pansies, snapdragons, and salvia. The annuals are chosen to do well with the weather at the time when the plants are chosen.
