18 18 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2022 | | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2022 | Team Sunshine Nonagenarian Birthday Party: Everyone had such a great time at the 90+ birthday party for our residents on June 29, hosted by Team Sunshine. It was complete with dogs, music, a balloon clown, interviews, and the Hokey Pokey! Yummy cake and ice cream was served, of course. Dogs and handlers from Custom Canines explained a bit about their program made up of all volunteers who train service dogs for veterans. Addis "Scotty" Scott made wonderful balloon hats and corsages for the honorees and the beautiful red, white and blue cake was made and served by Chef Francisco. Honorees included: Anne Balensiefer, Doris Brown, Barbara Decker, Earl Evans, Chuck Forsyth, Mary Halton, Phil Hamm, Garth Hess, Jeanne Jonas, Vern Knip, Don Krampe, Dot Lampe, Laurie Roach, Harold Rowden, Annette Smith, Lis Woelke. Celebrations of Life: On June 24 Team Sunshine helped Mary Campbell host a lovely celebration of life in her home, honoring her husband, Larry Campbell. We have also received word of the passing of Robert Davidson. Our team has reached out to his family to extend our condolences and offer our assistance. Sunshine attempts to reach as many of our residents as possible when they need comfort or cheering. If you have a neighbor or friend in Four Seasons who may be dealing with a recent injury, or lingering illness; has suffered the loss of a family member or is feeling blue; we ask that you let us know. An unexpected card or phone call can do much to brighten someone's day. Kindness Award: We are sure many of you often witness acts of kindness here in our community. When you do, please stop by the front desk at The Lodge and fill out a Kindness card. Sunshine will take it from there and set things in motion to recognize this person or persons. Prayer Requests: For those wishing prayer, a request box is provided in the Multipurpose Room. Prayer cards are provided.
