Friends we will miss
Raymond (Ray) LeBlanc, 89, passed away on June 25, 2022. Ray was born in
Minto, New-Brunswick, Canada on November 29, 1932, the sixth child in a family of 14 children.
His family moved back and forth from New Brunswick to Massachusetts, finally settling in the
U.S. in the early 1950s.
Ray joined the United States Air Force in 1953 where he served for 20 years. He was stationed
in England, California, Iwo Jima, France, and Germany. It was in England where he met his
beautiful wife of 65 years, Marilyn (Smith). Together they had their son Dean, born in 1962.
Upon his retirement after 20 years in the Air Force, Ray and his family settled in San
Bernardino where Ray worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years. Ray and Marilyn
moved to Sun Lakes in 2006 where they enjoyed golf, bocce ball, bingo and the many friends
that they've made through the years. However, one of Ray's favorite roles was as "Poppa" to his
grandson Christopher, born in 2009.
Ray is survived by his wife Marilyn, his son Dean and Dean's wife Christy, and his grandson
Christopher. Ray was buried at Riverside National Cemetery with full military honors in July.
