4 | LIFE IN SOLERA | SEPTEMBER 2022 | We are starting our last months of summer. As they say, time flies when you are having fun. And we hope that's what you are doing — enjoying activities, sports, getting together with friends and family. These are so important to us all. I would like to talk about something that's not so fun for just a moment. Many of us like to take a walk around the block, up to the Clubhouse, over to a neighbor's house, etc. Some like to get around on a bicycle or golf cart. Then, while we are out getting our exercise or enjoying a walk chatting to others, someone in a car speeds down the street, not stopping for the stop sign at the corner, and not paying attention to someone starting to cross the street. You then must jump back or pull up on your dog so they don't get hit. Many people in California speed down the freeways or make "California stops" at the intersections. Our streets are not the freeway. Solera is our home. We need to respect our home and our neighbors. I would not say that the residents of Solera are the only ones who speed and coast through a stop sign. Yet, if that is the case, who is doing these things? That answer must be one of the following: our guests or our vendors. Do you see a common word in that answer? I'll give you a hint. OUR. Yes, if it is not us, it is our guests and vendors. We are responsible for our guests and vendors who enter Solera under our permission to do so. Please think about this and talk with our guests and vendors, and ask them to respect our home and our community. Thank you. Just a quick reminder: our "Social Gathering" is Wed., Oct. 26 at 6 pm. All residents of Solera are invited to attend. New residents will receive a personal invitation if you moved in after March 31.
