Bunco Babes September is usually the time we start settling back down to a somewhat normal routine. Vacations are ending, grandchildren are heading back to school or college. The heat that might have kept you at home, I hope is now behind us. The Clubhouse is in full swing with all the fun activities you can hope for. Bunco is one of those games that takes you away from your normal daily routine. For just a few hours on a Friday afternoon once a month, you can relax and have some fun. Bunco is a simple dice game. We get together to laugh, cheer and mingle with about 32 women. We meet the fourth Friday of the month at 12:45 in the Card Room. We do not take walk-ins as we have limited seating. Please call Julie Rodriguez at (951) 821-1970. Next game play is Sept. 23 Hope to see you there. Let's play! Hand & Foot Calling all card players and especially Hand & Foot card players: are you a new resident and looking for an afternoon of fun? Come join us once a week. Even if you have never played the game, we can teach you quickly. Our group meets every Wednesday at 12:30 pm in the Multipurpose Room at The Lodge. There is no fee. Come as you are. Call or email to add your name to the list, although you can just show up and play. For info, contact patsyhall852@yahoo.com or (951) 599-4687. Looking forward to meeting all new players, as well as welcoming back previous players. ~ Pat and Bill Hall Mexican Train Recently, I heard some rumblings about residents not being aware that there was still a Mexican Train group playing at The Lodge. So, I asked our lovely Activities Director to please put out an eblast, which she did. She also put it on the electronic monitor in The Lodge. So, for those of you who weren't aware, you have now been informed. NO EXCUSES! We are here and having a great time. If you've never played Mexican Train, don't let that keep you from checking it out. It's a game played with dominoes and it's very easy to learn. We play on Tuesday evenings at 6 pm in The Lodge Multipurpose Room and would love to see some new faces at the tables. EVERYONE IS WELCOME! It's best to show up a little early so we can be ready to start playing on time. For more information, contact Bobbie Davis at (951) 223-3836 or misserdog@ outlook.com. Double Deck Pinochle Join us Fridays, 10 am in The Lodge Multipurpose Room. Don't know how to play double deck pinochle? We will teach you. It is a lot of fun. Mah-Jongg Club The MahJongg Club invites you to join us and enjoy playing this game which dates back hundreds of years. If you are curious about the game, come and learn how to play! If you are an experienced player who is new to our community, please come and join our group. We play every Monday and Thursday from 1 to 3 pm in the Multipurpose Room. If you want to learn how to play, we have written instructions, and someone is always available to teach you. You are welcome to come and observe anytime we are playing. Bid Whist Plus Social Club We meet the first Friday of every month from 2 to 5:30 pm in The Lodge Game Room. We are a welcoming, diverse, and friendly social group who enjoy playing a variety of card/board games, great food, and good times. No experience necessary. We will teach any novice, and you'll catch on fast. While the majority of current members primarily play a card game known as Bid Whist, we encourage all our participants to explore their preferences for other table games as they are inclined. You will have fun, enjoy good company and great food (potluck). If you just want to talk, eat, and catch up on the goings on, that's very much okay too. So, what's your pleasure: Bones/Dominoes, Bridge, Spades, Uno, Backgammon, Checkers, Cribbage? Regardless of your experience level, please join us for an afternoon of exciting and spirit lifting camaraderie. We adhere to all COVID-19 protocols currently in effect. For info, call or text Donny Brown at (619) 395-7494 or Maurice Bernard Brown at (619) 750-5839.
