| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | SEPTEMBER 2022 | 3 General Manager's Message By Rick Ruth, CMCA Staff Anniversary: I'm very happy to announce a special anniversary this month. I usually mention this anniversary at the September Board meeting and I also want to recognize her in this month's article. Mari Salazar is celebrating 10 years with our company serving as your Assistant General Manager. She plays a vital role in several areas; providing guidance and support to the Board and the 10+ committees, providing dedicated leadership to The Lodge staff, being genuinely helpful to the residents and "holds the Fort down" when I am away. This community continues to benefit by her work ethic, integrity, commitment to serve and her institutional knowledge. I am blessed to work alongside her each day. 2023 Budget: Several months ago, the Board of Directors appointed an Ad-Hoc Budget Committee. They have begun to work on the 2023 budget. The committee is comprised of members from the Finance committee, the Board and management. They have also reached out to the Landscape, Facilities and Access committee for input on their proposed capital and reserve expenditures for the coming year. The reserve study component listing was also reviewed and changes in current pricing and remaining life were made. The Board will be reviewing the draft of the budget this month and if there are no issues, the budget and policy statement could be approved at this month's meeting. These folks as well as management have been working very hard to minimize costs and find ways to operate as efficiently as possible without sacrificing amenities that you have come to expect. It's no surprise that prices for labor, materials and fuel have increased for all of us as consumers. We ask that you have an open mind and realistically ponder the potential for an increase in dues in 2023. Due to the tireless efforts of your Finance Committee and the Board of Directors' forward-thinking vision and guidance, the dues have remained at $163 since 2003, a remarkable feat for any association! Stop Signs: Yes, we have them, and YES, all vehicles and bicycles need to observe them, especially when bicycling downhill on Stephenson. There was a near collision last month and luckily the bicyclist was able to avoid the car that pulled out in front of the rider. If you do ride, please be observant of other vehicles; they may not see you. Final reminders: Please remind your guests and delivery service providers to obey the 25 mph posted speed limit; please pick up after your pets and be "water-wise" with your sprinklers! Have a peaceful Labor Day!
