| THE COLONY NEWS | OCTOBER 2022 | 33
Our artist for October is Guy Johnson. This will be Guy's fifth time presenting his artwork in the Clubhouse lobby. Guy has
been a photographer for more than 50 years, and his specialty is black and white, with some color photography. He photographs
patterns, scenery and sometimes people. Many of his award-winning photographs have been converted from film to digital.
In 2021, Guy began working on making a crossword puzzle to be submitted to the New York Times, and he is also a published
author. He has a book for sale on Amazon, Remotely Funny, under his own name, and he has another book in the works.
As you can see, Guy stays busy with photography, crossword puzzle-making, and writing. This gifted artist has been very
generous in sharing his artwork with The Colony. Thank you, Guy!
Artist of the Month
By Sylvia Maxwell, 818-667-1766
August's students painted a
peacock. Our technique was
wet on wet and wet on dry,
using mainly blues and greens,
with detail work done in brown
tones. We meet on the last
Thursday of each month from
9 am to 12 noon in the Annex.
Our members range from first-
time beginners to advanced.
We ask that you bring your
own supplies. Classes are free
and we welcome all Colony
residents. As you can see, we
have a lot of fun and hope you
will join us, so you have an
opportunity to develop your
own creativity.
