32 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | OCTOBER 2022 | Golf Club From the President, Tom Moore: Welcome to autumn. A time of nice warm, sunny days and cool crisp evenings. This is one of the best times to live here in beautiful Hemet. It is also a great time to come out and play some golf with your fellow Hemet Four Seasons Golf Club members. The temps are just about perfect, and the course is in pretty good shape. Beginning on Oct. 4, the start time is moved to 8 am, so you get to sleep in a half-hour later. October features our annual Club Championship Tournament. The overall "low net" and "low gross" winners will be invited to represent the Hemet Four Seasons Golf Club in the Southern California Golf Association's Regional Championship Tournament in Palm Springs in December. Tentatively, on Oct. 27 we will be playing our second "road trip" game at Rancho Del Sol golf course in Moreno Valley. More information to follow… We are still accepting nominations for the four elected positions (Prez, Veep, Trea$urer, and Secretary) for next year's term. Don't be afraid nominate someone,or to toss your own hat in the ring. I hate the sound of crickets, so let's hear from some volunteers! 'Till next time, keep it straight, and golf hard! From the Tournament Chair- Elliot Yaeger: The following are the games for October 2022. Our start time moves back to 8 am. Oct. 4, 8 am: (C) Club Championship – Best two out of three rounds – Round 1. Low net and 1st Place winners by flight. Oct. 6, 8 am, Thursday: (C) Club Championship – Round 2. Oct. 11, 8 am: (C) Club Championship – Round 3. Also 9 hole tournament. Oct. 18, 8 am: Team Scramble. Oct. 25, 8 am: Partners Best Net Blind Draw – Front, Back or Total (chosen at the end). We have a few people interested in playing horseshoes. There is a horseshoe league that plays on Wednesday mornings at 8 am at different locations around Hemet. We practice Saturdays at 8 am. Horseshoes Billiards Join us every Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 pm for friendly play. Our Four Seasons Hemet Valley Interpark Pool League practices will be Tuesday morning from 9 am to noon. If you have any questions, please call Art Martel at (909) 973-8208. Tennis is thriving at Four Seasons Hemet, with the courts being used most mornings. Mondays and Fridays see a preponderance of ladies, however any gentlemen wishing to play are welcome and there are some regulars. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the preponderance is gentlemen, however a few ladies play too! The bottom line is, if you have been thinking about playing, PLEASE JOIN IN on whichever day(s) fit your schedule. Of course, the courts are available whenever The Lodge is open, and there are lights for nighttime play. There is a ball machine for folks to practice with. Let The Lodge attendant know a day ahead if you would like to use the ball machine, and they will ensure it is charged and will bring it to the court for you. Our weather provides near perfect conditions year round. Come hone your skills, and enjoy the camaraderie of Four Seasons tennis! Tennis Club The Bocce season and the players have the rest of this year off, but we will again start a new season in spring 2023. I think it would be nice to have a Pet Owners Group to meet once a month to share information about vets, groomers, food, treats, medical issues, pet sitters, and walkers. We may be able to get guest speakers, such as veterinarians, to share important information.
