| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | OCTOBER 2022 | 3 The Board is currently working diligently with the FirstService Residential management team on the 2023 budget. The second Public Workshop will be on Tues., Oct. 4 from 10 am to 12 pm in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Members are welcome and encouraged to attend. We have created directives for the 2023 budget. Despite current inflation and cost of living increases, we intend to be creative and find ways to keep assessments as low as possible through lowering expenses and increasing revenue. The Board has approved a new golf event, "Pitch, Putt and Play" to be played on the Executive Course. This will be a fun event playing on a different layout each month. The next event is Oct. 4. Thank you to Linda Spaulding for being the driving force behind this event. The "Listening Sessions" with two members of the Board are continuing the first Monday of each month at 3:30 pm in the Sandwedge. There were many great topics bought up by members/residents at the September meeting; the Board members who attended will share the discussion with the full Board at a regular meeting. There has been concern about the amount of trash outside of the north wall on the Executive Course. The Board approved a cleanup of this area by Artistic Maintenance with the hopes that this will discourage future homeless encampments. The Food and Beverage department has overcome most of the staffing shortages. We are pleased to announce that Monday Night Football has returned to the Lounge. Our first event was Sept. 12 and is scheduled throughout the NFL season. In addition, we have now started Taco Tuesdays and Pasta Thursdays in the Restaurant. These will be presale tickets that are available at the hostess desk. Just a reminder about the Main Clubhouse and North Clubhouse pools. Both pools allow children between 10 am and 2 pm. Children under three years old are not allowed in the pools at any time and no diapers of any type are allowed in the pool. The pools have the same requirement as all our other amenities. The member/resident must be with their guests. This includes pools, clubhouse, restaurant, lounge, and driving range, to name a few. We appreciate everyone's understanding of these rules. As summer is now in the rear-view mirror, we still have water mandates from the state and the city. We continue to work with city officials to help Sun Lakes mitigate some of the effects of these mandates. In the meantime, the Board and management staff, along with all residents, will need to continue to do our part in conserving water. The Board, once again, would like to thank all members/residents for their contributions to our community. This includes Delegates, committee members, program developers, our Community Ambassador. We want to also give thanks to all that attend our open session Board meetings and the Delegate Assembly meetings. These two meetings offer immeasurable information about our community. "We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives." ~ John F. Kennedy From the Master Board
