| OHCC LIVING | OCTOBER 2022 | 31 While the Photography Club gives people a chance to show off some of their work, and brings in people from whom we can learn, we also support the community from time to time. For example, in 2021, the Garden Club could not have the spring Garden Tour to show off the beautiful gardens due to the COVID restrictions then in effect. We had 17 volunteers take photos of nine gardens. These were provided to the Garden Club to be shared on their website. Later, in June 2021, club members supplied framed photos for hanging in the Art Room for a couple of months. This had been delayed for a very long time by the clubhouse renovation and the pandemic. In 2022, the Garden Tour happened with on- site participation, but the Photo Club was asked to document the gardens again, which we did, supplying the results to the Garden Club. Later this year, the club was asked to take some photos at the Pet Lovers Humane Society Event on July 30. Several volunteers participated and shared photos with the Pet Lovers Club. Some of the photos taken on that day are above, all taken by Bob Johnson. We've also shot a family reunion for a neighbor on Rhodes Way, of adult children and grandchildren who had not seen each other since before the pandemic began (with some grandchildren born during the pandemic) and some of whom live far away in Israel. And in late September, we were asked to take some photos of the "Back to School" Doo-Wop event. So, if you enjoy taking pictures, we can put you to work. The Photography Club is open to all OHCC residents. Dues are $8/year. We typically meet on the third Thursday of the month, at 1 pm, in the Lamia Room.
