FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2022 65 We are back from our four-day ride to the White Mountains of Arizona, and what a ride it was! Making this ride were Terry Humble, Jim Ayala, Joe Bert, Scott Snyder, plus one guest. We have been on a number of very memorable rides, but this one stands out for a number of reasons. First, some of us had never been to the White Mountain region of Arizona. I continue to be amazed at the beauty of Arizona. Second, we had huge weather fluctuations all in the same day: in the 40s in the morning to nearly 100 by mid-afternoon. Crazy. Third, we tried to avoid the rain but didn't quite make it. We got wet! President Terry advised all of us to pack for all kinds of weather possibilities and it turned out to be great advice. We found ourselves layering up and down all in the same day. For the hot weather, most of the guys had cooling vests. Personally, I just drenched my skull cap with ice cold water and I was a happy man. Of course, we are always thankful when we all get home safe and sound. The only close call was when I somehow managed to walk straight into a door jamb after breakfast at the Yuma Cracker Barrel. No blood, but it left a nice welt on my forehead. As for mechanical issues, Terry thought he might have an electrical problem, but the good folks at the Yuma Harley Davidson dealership checked out his bike and, thankfully, all was good. Once again, a big "thank you" goes out to club president Terry Humble for planning this ride. Terry planned the route and handled all the other minutiae that always make for a successful ride. This included laying out the exact locations for fuel, rest stops, meals and lodging. For the rest of us, this just meant falling in behind Terry, trying to keep a tight formation, and just enjoying the 1,144 mile ride. Nice! The White Mountain ride was the last multi-day ride for 2022 and now we start thinking about possible multi-day ride destinations for 2023. Hey Terry, I'm not opposed to doing the White Mountain ride again! Then again, it's been a while since our last Utah or Northern California ride. Also, Colorado would be nice. Much to think about. Regardless, we hope to get in two or three multi-day rides next year. In the meantime, the Four Seasons Motorcycle Club continues to go on day rides every Thursday, weather permitting. We depart from The Lodge parking lot promptly at 9 am and these rides are generally 100 to 200 miles in length, round trip, including a lunch break. If you ride and think joining the Four Seasons Motorcycle club might be for you, joining us on one of our weekly day rides is a great way to learn more about the club. It's all about the joy of riding and camaraderie. We aren't picky about your ride: full touring rigs, cruisers, adventure bikes, sport bikes, and trikes are all welcome. If you would like to speak with someone about the Motorcycle Club, you can call Terry Humble, Pres (909-706-2298), Jim Ayala, VP (951-392-6259) or Joe Bert, Sec (909-767-1484). ~ Jim Ayala Motorcycle Club A nice shot taken by Scott Snyder on the way home somewhere in Arizona on Highway 60. Taken near Pine Top, Arizona. (L-R) Terry Humble, Jim Ayala, Scott Snyder, Bill (Scott's guest) and Joe Bert. Yes, it's cold! Taking a break at the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument in Coolidge, Arizona. Yes, it's hot!
