FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2022 9 BANNING WAREHOUSE UPDATE In September, the Pass Action Group (PAG) held a Town Hall meeting in the Sun Lakes Ballroom. The PAG lawyer, Kevin Bundy, outlined their case for those attending and those watching from their homes via Zoom. This meeting was attended by more than 300 people from Banning and Beaumont in addition to Sun Lakes residents. The attorney, Kevin Bundy, stated that PAG has received the Administrative Record from the city of Banning. This Administrative Record contains all information related to the proposed Banning Point Project. In addition, the attorney advised that the status conference with the judge, the Honorable Craig Reimer, has been delayed. It was scheduled for Sept. 30 and rescheduled for Oct. 25. The attorney also stated that the "Brief " process should begin by the end of the year and lead up to a hearing on the case. The "Brief " which is a multi-tiered process after completion will lead to the hearing in front of Judge Reimer possibly in the spring of 2023. By the time this publication is received by our residents, a fundraiser will have been held on Oct. 24. Fiesta FUNraiser had a taco bar, entertainment and an auction. Over 100 people enjoyed this sold out event for PAC and its fight to overcome the Banning Point Warehouse approval. The PAC Board of Directors meets weekly to address issues as they come up. The Board's Legal Committee continues to assist the law firm. As the legal case continues, additional fundraising will be necessary to pay for legal expenses and other necessary expenses. Read the Breeze monthly for updates Beaumont City Summit Station Industrial Project & Banning Warehouse Updates By Jerry Monahan, Board President BEAUMONT SUMMIT STATION The Beaumont City Council was scheduled to hold a public hearing at the regular city council meeting scheduled for 6 pm on Oct. 18. At that time, the city council was to review The Summit Station Project, as well as the recommendation for the Planning Commission whether to approve, modify, or reject The Summit Station Plan as presented. It is unknown as of this writing whether or not the issue was discussed on Oct. 18 as scheduled or was delayed to another date. The Specific Plan includes the following: • Amend the General Plan land use designation from Single Family Residential to Industrial, General Commercial, and Open Space. • Also a specific plan to allow 2,707,465 square feet of mixed commercial, warehouse/E-commerce, office uses and 30.6 acres of passive open space. • To subdivide 188.03 acres into five parcels which will include manufacturing warehouse Building 1 comprising 985,860 square feet, Building 2 comprising 1,213,325 square feet, and Building 3 comprising 358,370 square feet. • Also the consideration of Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for 188 acres located on the south side of Cherry Valley Boulevard to the north side of Brookside Avenue, east on the 10 Freeway and west of Fabian Lane in the Specific Plan Zone. The applicant of the project is Exeter Cherry Valley Land, LLC.
