| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | NOVEMBER 2022 | 43 The Bereavement Support Group meets Sundays in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room from 3 to 4:30 pm. This group is designed to provide emotional support to any resident mourning the death of a spouse, relationship, child, parent, or beloved pet. We gather together as "hearts with ears" in absolute confidentiality in a safe shared place where strangers may become friends. Each of us is unique; our grief cannot be identical to any other, and the way to get to the other side of your grief is to "go through." For more info, call Carol Tasko at (951) 769-8932. Bereavement Group If you live alone and would enjoy the benefit of having a daily check on your well being by THE ALL IS WELL group, please register your interest by calling Barbara Searcy at (951) 663-3382. You will be teamed with a volunteer who will get in touch with you to arrange reassuring daily contact. All Is Well Group Happy Thanksgiving! The holidays are here! I am so thankful for all that I have. I am thankful for each of you who I have met through this amazing group. I hope all of you will take the time to think of all the things and people in your life you are thankful for. There is always a positive in this negative world. Sometimes we just have to look a little harder. Our next meeting and support group will be on Thurs., Nov. 15 at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. There is no guest speaker this month. This will give each of you more time to share. This group is for you the caregiver. Our program is open to ALL CAREGIVERS. This is a free program! We have another program in the Arts & Crafts Room that will care for your loved one while you enjoy the meeting. Please, don't leave him or her home alone. The Arts & Crafts Room is next door to your meeting room. We offer live entertainment, games, exercise and fun. No one is forced to participate. We will do whatever needs to be done to entertain your loved one so you can relax and enjoy the meeting. If you think your loved one isn't ready for the Arts & Crafts Room group just yet, you might be surprised. Sometimes they feel more comfortable chatting with others who are like themselves. Give us a try; it's a free program and we care about your loved one. PLANNING AHEAD FOR LONG-TERM CARE EXPENSES #2 - ESTIMATE THE COSTS OF CARE: In planning for long-term care, consider all the costs you might face now and in the future. Keep in mind that Alzheimer's is a progressive disease, so the type and level of care a person needs will change over time. Costs may include: • In-home care services • Residential care services, including assisted living and nursing homes • Ongoing medical treatment not covered by insurance and treatment for other medical conditions • Prescription drugs • Personal care supplies • Adult day services More info next month. If you have any questions, would like to learn more about Memory Loss, or would like education, care, support, information, and/or referrals with reading material that we can loan you, call Diane at (951) 769-0130, Doug at (360) 840-5559, or Anne at (951) 845-8700. Remember we are here to help. Caregiver Support Group
