The Happy Cookers is dark in the month of November. Your Happy
Cookers Board wishes you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Ok, can we "dish" a minute? How about that fantastic Apple Pie
Contest we held?!? Our guest judge was Devon Riley, and to quote
him, "one of the Riley clan from Oak Glen." Devon delighted us with
the history of Oak Glen, the variety of different apples, and so many
other delicious things that can be found in Oak Glen, one of which is
their delicious apple cider and their hard apple cider. Devon had the
unenviable task of judging our Apple Pie contest.
Congratulations to Annah Kreps, whose apple pie recipe was the
first-place winner. As of this printing, you will have had a chance to
taste it in our restaurant as it was the featured dessert in the month
of October. Congratulations to the apple cobbler winners: Patricia
Elevi, second place, and Wendy Ditchfield, third place. A very special
thank you to Beverly Rashidd for attending our event. Beverly was
one of the original founders of the Happy Cookers Club and spoke
to us about her vision for the Club when it was founded. She is
pictured with today's Co-President Raelene Kretchman. Doug Deans,
one of the Co-Presidents is pictured with the winners (wearing his
Lederhosen) and Co-President Jolynn Deans is responsible for this
month's program. It was a great time, and all the pies were delicious.
The big event of the year is coming… so run, run, run, as fast
you can to the Happy Cookers party! Good food, fun and great
entertainment by Jamestown. The Happy Cookers Holiday party will
be Dec. 15 from 5 to 9 pm in the South Clubhouse. Tickets are $15 for
members and $20 for guests. Registration forms are available in the
Main Clubhouse lobby and will also be emailed to all the members.
