In a few days, the year will come to an end and as I look back at past
editions of The View, December is usually the month where a recap is
appropriate. So here we go… we started off the year with replacing the
two dishwashers in the kitchen; no more washing over 100 plates by hand.
We also had maintenance done to the men's restroom urinal, the women's
restroom faucets, and the indoor pool shower head due to leaks. The coffee
machine received replacement spouts. A fresh coat of paint was due for the
lobby entry wall, the hallway, restrooms and locker rooms, and the Ballroom.
The office and the conference room were rejuvenated with paint as well as
carpet. I am going out on a limb here and say that the new carpet installation
was complete throughout the Lodge (remember, this article was written in
November, fingers crossed the project was complete by December.)
While the maintenance list for the inside of the Lodge looks long, we did
not ignore the outdoor common area. The outdoor pool area received fresh
mulch and the patio pots plant material were replaced with new life. The
Pickleball Courts expanded their hardscape with new pavers, and the Bocce
Ball Court umbrellas were replaced. Several missing trees and plants were
replenished along the Paseo. Finally, with the rainy season in full swing it
was most important that the overseed was complete at this time and the cul
de sac drains were cleared from debris.
Lastly, I want to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season full of family,
friends, joy, love and laughter.
