26 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2022 | Golf Cart Club The Halloween Cart Parade made up for the smaller turnout with some super decorated golf carts. A big "thank you" to Debbie and Cecil Frazier and Stella Torres and John Shilling for helping/ hosting the welcome table (Champagne, apple cider, goodies, and donuts); it was very popular. Rick and Linda Adkins stepped up when I asked them at the very last minute to lead the parade through the community. Much appreciated. Of course, I would be in trouble if I did not thank Donna McLaughlin and Tim (the Four Seasons handyman) for The Lodge decorations and Donna also helping/ hosting the welcome table. Finally, Tracie Rodgers did a great job with PR blasts and maps etc. Mark your calendar for the Holiday Golf Cart Parade on Saturday evening, Dec. 10. The parade will depart at 5:30 pm. Just line up beginning at 4:45 pm in the roundabout in front of The Lodge. Tracie will be sending out blasts, with a map, as a reminder. The Holiday Golf Cart Parade is timed so that you can attend the tree lighting ceremony at 5 pm and the Village Voices concert at 7 pm — a busy holiday day! The golf cart parade lasts about 45 minutes. So decorate those carts and show up (with or without a cart) in front of The Lodge beginning at 4:45 pm, with a 5:30 pm departure. This parade is very popular with some amazing decorations and a lot of fun. Come join us for a good time! Two flag postings are scheduled: Veterans Day, Nov. 11, throughout the entire community, and Pearl Harbor Day, Dec. 7, just along Four Seasons and World Cup. One of our angels, Cheryl Dewberry, broke a wing (elbow), and Cheryle Patterson stepped up to take her route for Veteran's Day. Hoping Cheryl has a speedy and full recovery and thank you Cheryle for volunteering. I still could use some volunteers to serve as backup Flag Angels so if you want to help, please call me at (951) 973-4149 or email me at mikemcla43@aol.com. P.S. Joe, I lost your info; could/would you please email it to me. Thanks! ~ Mike McLaughlin Our Shuffleboard season sadly is coming to an end. This was my first year as chairman and it was a fun experience. We were scheduled to play 10 games but the weather hasn't agreed. First, we canceled because it was too hot and then we dealt with the rain. Better luck next year. The playoffs are Dec. 1 starting at 9 am. All teams have been invited to play in the playoffs single game elimination. Orville has worked very hard on the schedule and I hope all teams will play. Some changes will be a 30 minute game limit or 50 points. The championship game will remain the same 45 minutes or 75 points. We have had many new players this season and hope you have enjoyed playing the game, getting out and meeting some new friends. Our goal is to have a FUN time and if you win, it's a bonus. Tell your friends to join us next year where they can meet new people and share some laughs. Our Awards dinner will be Jan. 5. More information will be given later. Don't forget we have a Monday, Friday group that plays at 9 am. If the courts are wet we cannot play. Come join us. No commitment just practice and fun. Show up when you can. If you have any questions please give a call. My home number is (951) 325-8357. Have a joyous holiday season and blessed 2023. ~ Toni Harris, Chairman Shuffleboard Pickleball Morning Pickleball: Come join the fun! We play on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7:30 am to noon. We know you'll have as much fun as we do. Evening Only - Pickleball Club: We play on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 5 to 8 pm. We invite anyone who would like to play Pickleball to come out. We know you will have as much fun as we all do. Players of all skill levels are welcome! We don't just love playing Pickleball; our group also gets together once a month on a Sunday at The Lodge Game Room. We each bring something to eat and play the game of Sequence. This game is a card and board game: lots of fun, and even better, there's a lot of laughing going on!
