By Tracie Rodgers The first thing I do when I start my article is save the document (hard lesson learned). As I enter December, I find myself in awe of another year gone by. I tried to lay off the Hallmark movies but I can't do it. I hope each of you will consider coming out and joining me at our Hometown Holiday event at The Lodge. This is a perfect day to invite the family over and experience the day together. Photo opportunities and fun for all ages. Sat., Dec. 10 is jam packed, it will be a whole lot of holiday in a day. The Social Committee is busy putting the final touches on New Year's Eve, but not before the biannual Holiday Luncheon (I am going to miss the house tour this year, can't wait for next year). Thank goodness for the holiday decorating committee, I feel blessed to enjoy all the beautiful trees throughout The Lodge and Spa building. Come out just to look around. Hoping to share some laughs in the New Year with a Comedy Show Jan. 21, 2023. Several clubs are planning some great events for 2023 and I hope you are ready to get out and enjoy each of them. Wishing you all health and happiness as we wrap up another year. 4 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | DECEMBER 2022 | From Your Activities Director The HOA Board of Directors for Four Seasons value the profound nature of diverse cultures that comprise this community. Therefore, the HOA Board has decided to formally engage in a yearlong celebration of our unique humanity. Four Seasons will turn the spotlight each month on the various heritages and cultures that populate this community. Heritage months are an important reminder of just how much strength we draw as a nation from our multi-racial and multi-cultural roots as well as our values as a country of distinct social, ethnic and racial backgrounds. The United States owes a great deal to all these groups who have made tremendous contributions to our United States history. Each group has a history of triumphs, resilience, and strength that we should celebrate. Not every racial, ethnic or cultural group in the United States has adopted their month. But when they do, we shall honor and celebrate with them. At this point, below are the current months we shall highlight beginning January 2023. In some instances, more than one group shares the same month. Going forward we shall include as many groups as claim the month: January: Martin Luther King birthday, January 17. February: Afro-American History Month March: Woman's History Month Greek-American Heritage Month Irish-American Heritage Month Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month April: Arab-American Heritage Month Scottish-American Heritage Month Autism Awareness Month May: Cinco de Mayo Jewish-American Heritage Month Asian-American/Pacific-Islander Heritage Month Military Appreciation Month June: Juneteenth—June 19 Caribbean-American Heritage Month June Pride—LGBTQ Pride Month July French-American Heritage Month Mormon Pioneer Day ADA signed into law in 1990 August: International Day of Indigenous Peoples September: Hispanic Heritage Month Polish-American Heritage Month National Disability Awareness Month October: Filipino Heritage Month German-American Heritage Month Italian-American Heritage Month Indigenous People's Day November: Native American Heritage Month Dutch-American Heritage Month December International Human Rights Day We invite each and everyone of you to contribute information about each group you identify with so that we leave no one out. Everyone counts. Help us show that. HERITAGE MONTHS
