| THE COLONY NEWS | DECEMBER 2022 | 15 We have almost completed our first round of home inspections and have enjoyed walking along the streets of The Colony. Most importantly, we are impressed with the home improvements that keep The Colony looking well-kept. We understand the paint book can be overwhelming. You may check out a paint book with a $25 refundable deposit. When you find a few color schemes you like, you may pick up color chips in the office. These will give you a truer image of the color than what you see through the protective page shields. A question often asked is, "What is a pop- out?" Think of it as a speed bump on your house. What can slow down the approval of your paint application? It may be something as simple as mixing up where the (a), (b), or (c) color may be used on the house. Another slowdown is not including a picture of your house. We hope the following chart will help you. ARCHITECTURAL CONTROL By Gloria Brosky, Lori Dalfonso & Jodi Harris It's incredible how fast this year has gone, and once again we're entering the Holiday Season. Following the example of the HOA Board of Directors canceling their December meeting, the CATCOM will not meet in December, but will meet again in January. We are happy to welcome three new members to our committee: Bill Koch, Merrill McDougall and Ron Brown. We invite you to go to The Colony location on the Yelp application and enter a positive comment about your experience with Colony life. https://www.yelp. com/biz/colony-cal-oaks-hoe-associaton-murrieta. We need reinforcement on that site! Development continues on our Colony website, with much more news to come about that next year. We are thrilled to announce that we have completed two additional interviews in our Outreach to History project. One was with Louann Campbell, who was the first female Board member, and the other was with Wayne and Michelle Kelly, who had great stories to tell about The Colony Mead Mondays.
