Open tennis is every Saturday from 8 to 10 am. There is
no sign up for this, just come down with your racquet. We
do have extra racquets in the box by the tennis courts.
On Tuesday, Jan. 3, the Tai Chi class will welcome interested
residents to join. If you're curious about Tai Chi or have always
wanted to try it, this is your chance. Come join us in doing Tai
Chi and Qi Gong on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Auditorium.
Class starts promptly at 3:30 for one hour. Wear loose clothing
and supportive shoes.
Tai Chi was developed many centuries ago, and it may be the
first martial art. Its graceful movements help to balance the yin
and the yang, doing as much for the mind and soul as for the
body. Tai Chi provides an avenue for learning about such things
as balance, alignment, fine-scale motor control, the rhythm of
movement, etc. Plus, it lessens arthritis pain and helps improve
memory. To this day, all over the world the amazingly fluid
motion of this traditional Chinese practice remains one of
the popular means of keeping fit, especially among the older
generation.
