| OHCC LIVING | DECEMBER 2022 | 33 Late October was a great time for 16 RV rigs and 12 WOWs to drive up the coast to Pismo Beach Coast village RV Resort and the Kon Tiki Inn for a fall adventure. It was an active trip including a guided tour of Hearst Castle with lunch at the cafe. It was also a great time to visit the Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove to hear a docent talk about the life cycle of the Monarchs and view them covering the nearby trees. Folks enjoyed a tour of Chumash Adobe and village. Stations were set up with hands-on exhibits portraying the different aspects of Indian life, arts and culture. Reflecting on the life of the original residents of the area, combined with a picnic lunch made for a great experience. The golfers in the group got a treat playing right along the edge of the Pacific at the Morro Bay Golf Club on a gorgeous day. Some of the more adventurous ones rented ATVs for beach and dune riding while Mike Urban surveyed the greater area in a biplane. Several spent the afternoon tasting some of the local wines at the vineyards. Around the campgrounds, Debbie Cea organized a relaxing afternoon of rock painting. Catered dinners at the campground were great social occasions. A farewell dinner at a delicious Italian restaurant capped off a most enjoyable trip. A special cinnamon bun in the morning, then on the road back to OHCC with wonderful memories of the Pismo Beach area! The November meeting was canceled due to a conflict with the Thanksgiving Trip. Next meeting is in Abravanel Hall Jan. 24 at 6:30 pm for social time and trip sign-ups, 7 pm for the business meeting. Don't forget Do Dues Days on Jan. 14 to join or renew your membership. RV Club Inspiration Hill As we walk the trail at Inspiration Hill, we are always impressed by the varied community inspirations as expressed on the Donor Bricks. The trail begins by honoring our pioneer OHCC Founders, and continues with those who so bravely served us. There are bricks honoring family members, beloved pets, and favorite universities. What is your inspiration? The HOA continues to take orders for your own personalized bricks. Fill out an order form at the HOA office, and include a check for $75.
