| SUN LAKES LIFESTYLES | DECEMBER 2022 | 5
Happy Holidays and THANK YOU to all from the Pass Action
Group!
This past year has seen overwhelming support from the community
in our fight against the Banning Point Warehouse. Without this
support, tremendous spirit, and tenacity, we would never have had
the ability to begin and continue this fight.
Through our town halls, fundraisers, and calls to action, we are
positioned to continue with this extremely important endeavor.
Recently, we have begun three initiatives to keep up the fight.
In October, the Sun Lakes HOA Board authorized placement of a
banner at each gate in the community. The goal of this program was
to bring awareness to all regarding the Banning Point Project.
On Oct. 8, Districts 17 & 16 used our scheduled community garage
sales to hold a massive sale on the bocce courts, with all proceeds
being donated the Pass Action Group. This idea was the brainchild
of Carol Spinden of District 17, and another major coordinator was
Beverly Rashid of District 16. Thank you to the army of volunteers
that helped this sale raise over $6,000.
The P.A.G. fundraising committee, headed by Jan Flammang,
planned, and executed Fiesta FUNraiser for October 24th. There was
a taco bar, door prizes, margaritas, and a live auction. Thank you to
all the donors of baskets and auction prizes as well as the volunteers
this helped this event raise over 4500.00.
Our lawsuit is continuing with some important dates coming, our
brief to the court is due 12/09/22, the city and developers' response is
due 02/07/23, our counter brief is due 03/09/23. Our court hearing
may be in April or May 2023. Please watch further communications
for any updates.
