FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2022 5 Message From The Board By Jerry Monahan, Board President We start the month of December with our Budget for 2023 completed by the Budget Committee of Finance and approved by both the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors. Every opportunity available to cut costs was taken, but inflation necessitated the increase in our HOA dues. HOA dues increases are never taken lightly because of how it affects all our residents, but the Board has a responsibility to operate the Association responsibly. Four Seasons is a beautiful community with many amenities that require funding for the necessary staffing for all our facilities and events. The Board, along with Finance, Facilities, Community Planning, and other committees have been looking at ways to save on expenses as we go into 2023. A solar project to help offset electrical costs in our buildings and pools is currently under review. This program, if we can sign a contract for multiple years, is under review by our attorneys, the Board, and several committees. If we can go forward with this solar project, it would be no cost to us for installation and maintenance of the equipment and panels, and would save us thousands of dollars on electrical costs annually and as much as $2,000,000 over the 25-year program. We are also planning presentations in our Ballroom by the Inland Empire Resources Conservation District and San Gorgonio Pass Water District to update our residents on irrigation and planting during this period of reduced water usage. At this time, these presentations are planned to be one-to-one and a half hour each, and would include gift card giveaways, door prizes, and either pizza or donuts and coffee (depending on the time of the day of the events). There is no cost to attend and no cost to the HOA for the events, including the food and giveaways. Please watch the Daily Report for the dates and times of these events. By the time this article is in the December Breeze, our holiday lights will be illuminated on our buildings, entrance gates, and in various locations around Four Seasons Drive. The Board wishes all our residents a very happy and safe holiday season. The Board of Directors meets on the second Thursday of each month in the Ballroom. The next meeting is Dec. 8 at 1 pm. We also have an informal meeting at the RCN building on the third Wednesday of each month where residents can discuss topics and ask questions of the Board members in attendance. This informal session allows the Board members to respond and participate in a question and answer period that the more formal sessions do not permit. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at (951) 212-8898 or at jmonahan.fsb@gmail.com.
