As we come to the close of another year, I want to thank all of you who go out of your way to be kind to me and the onsite team here. Thank you; it is very much appreciated! As the December holidays are fast approaching, I hope you all have a warm and festive time with those closest to you. Age Verification Forms As of this writing in early November, we have received more than 1,230 returns of the Age Verification form. Thank you to all who have filled out and returned your completed form. Reminder Process for Gate Calls In an effort to help streamline the process for adding guests to the gate system dwellingLIVE, as of October 2022, owners can call The Summit at (951) 769-6444, or The Courts at (951) 845-4865, to add someone to their list. Owners always have the option of logging into dwellingLIVE themselves to manage their guest list. There is a link on our website, www. fourseasonsbeaumont.org. Having the option to add names of guests to dwellingLIVE using either a phone or computer will enable residents to update their guest list regardless of the resident's tech skill level. Slow Down A reminder that I give at each Open Session Board Meeting is to slow down. Once you are home behind the gates, speeding or not stopping at stop signs will only "save" you a few seconds of time. Speed limits are 30 mph on the Circle, 25 mph on all side streets and 15 mph in parking lots. Please slow down and drive responsibly. Also please use the sidewalks if you are a pedestrian. ~ Eric Zarr, eric.zarr@fsresidential.com, (909) 991-8337 FOR UPDATES ABOUT FOUR SEASONS, GO TO FOURSEASONSBEAUMONT.ORG. DID YOU KNOW that few moments in the history of the United States cast a longer shadow than Pearl Harbor? The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service upon the United States against the naval base at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii, just before 8 am on Sunday, Dec. 7, 1941. The United States was a neutral country at the time; the attack led to its formal entry into World War II the next day. You might say, even 80 years after the fact, Pearl Harbor is still a national obsession. We invoke the memory of Pearl Harbor whenever things are bad, really bad, when it's time to respond to a threat, or when we need an exhortation to get up, dust ourselves off, and do something. While we should never reduce Pearl Harbor to a cliché, our continued use of the metaphor is proof positive that our history matters, that shared memories are essential to tying Americans together as a people. Every time we remember Pearl Harbor, we recall the events of that day, and the brave people who died there. But perhaps we remember something about who we are, too.
